Our Down syndrome Achievement Centers provide programming and support to people with Down syndrome and their families.

GiGi's Playhouse of Rochester is one of the nationwide network of Down syndrome achievement centers; changing lives through free, results -driven programs for individuals of all ages, families and communities. Our mission is to change the way the world views Downs syndrome and to send a global message of acceptance to all.

It was so nice having some of our participants back in the Playhouse yesterday for Destination Discovery! 🎉

A huge thank you to the Pearsons for leading this amazing program all about roller coasters. 🎢

Participants worked in groups using pool noodles and marbles to design their own roller coasters. With lots of problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity, every group built a successful coaster that landed perfectly in the ending cup!

Our participants loved stepping into the role of engineers for the day and worked so hard together to bring their unique roller coaster designs to life. 💡🎢

Our very own Juliana, a participant here at GiGi’s Playhouse Rochester, had her dreams come true when she met one of her heroes, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen! 🏈🤗

The story was just shared by RochesterFirst, and we couldn’t be more proud to see Juliana’s joy and kindness shine so brightly. She brings that same energy into the Playhouse every day, and this moment is one we’ll never forget.

We’re so happy Juliana got to experience this once-in-a-lifetime hug—and we’re cheering loud with the rest of Rochester: Go Bills! 🦬💙

A HUGE thank you to our friends at Walmart! 💙💛

Each month, their amazing team comes into the Playhouse to donate supplies and lend a helping hand. and today they went above and beyond by organizing our entire kitchen! 🧹

We are even more excited to share that they’ll be back in October to support our Halloween party and help make it a spooky spectacular for our participants! 🎃👻

We are so grateful to partner with businesses like Walmart that believe in building a stronger, more inclusive community. 💪💜

We had our golf tournament on Saturday, and it was an absolutely amazing day! ⛳☀️

Tutor Shortage Alert — Can You Help?

Applications to become a 1:1 Literacy or Math Tutor close in TWO DAYS, but right now, we don't have enough tutors.

If nothing changes, we're on track to match roughly 50% of the learners who sign up. That means half of those ready to learn will be left waiting.
