Our doctors are pioneering new diagnostics and treatments to help preserve vision. Often, clinical trials and new treatments are tested at the Flaum Eye Institute first. As the only eye institute in the region, we're committed to providing state-of-the-art eye care for common and complex vision problems right in Upstate New York.

Our last member of our retina team for you to meet is Dr. Vikas Khetan. Dr. Khetan treats adult and pediatric retina cases, and also leads our ocular oncology service. He was also recently named to the editorial board for Scientific Reports.

The next member of our retina team is Dr. David Kleinman. Dr. Kleinman has expert knowledge and experience in vitreoretinal surgery. He is also passionate about developing new treatments for eye diseases.

Another member of our retina team is Dr. Rajeev Ramchandran. He specializes in retinal surgery and laser therapy. In addition to his surgical work, he is also the leader of our MobilEyes program. Dr. Ramchandran is passionate about health equity, making sure everyone is able to receive quality healthcare.

The next member of our retina service is Dr. David DiLoreto. Dr Diloreto is the Chair of Ophthalmology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and Director of the Flaum Eye Institute. He is a highly experienced surgeon, actively involved in research, and has received a National Institutes’ for Health clinician-scientist training award.

Our next member of our retina team is Dr. Mark Breazzano. He is the director of our Vitreoretinal Fellowship Program and has more than 100 peer-reviewed publications. A Syracuse native, he is also an experienced surgeon and was formerly a faculty member at Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute.

With February being Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) Awareness Month, we want to introduce our retina team. First up is Dr Raja Narayanan who is our retina chief. He has decades of experience managing retina cases, and is involved in stem cell therapy research to restore vision to people with AMD.

We'd like to welcome Dr. Jordan Sadlak to our optometry service. He comes to us from Michigan and is experienced in ocular disease, diabetic eye care, glaucoma management, and primary eye care. Dr Sadlak can also co-manage LASIK and cataract patients with the Eye Institute’s surgical staff.
