March is bleeding disorder awareness month. According to the CDC, 3 million people are affected by bleeding disorders such as hemophilia and von Willebrand disease. These diseases involve a lack of clotting factors in the blood, leading to prolonged bleeding after injury and with menstruation. With increased awareness and clinical research, there is hope that one day a cure will be found for bleeding disorders!
