Our entire organization would like send a HIGE shout out to C. Kent Thames, DVM for helping us out when Noone else could! Baby Lil bit woke up Monday morning and peed literally nothing but blood. Palmetto Veterinary Medicine tried to help us but all test ultrasound (caching$) xray (caching$) examination (caching$) f***l (caching$) were all inconclusive. They very generously adjusted our bill so we could not only pay them but also pay the specialist we were being referred to. THANK YOU guys so much for your time, efforts, patience and kindness! 🥰
Now Payton Hayes is driving the goats ( Lil bit will go NOWHERE without Chivo) Vermont & Livy & me to Fort Lawn. We were terrified about bladder bursting. Wish I had a picture of the practice. When I tell you I Knew we were gonna be OK as soon as I saw that his practice was a BARN , I knew!
He examined, he listened. His protégé is teaching me how to give the take home shots. Explained And taught me an eyelid trick for how to check FAMACHA scores. We went home knowledgeable and relieved!! Seeing as how we are a True non profit with little to no funding, I realized when I got home that when he told his amazing protégé (someone please tell me her name!) To "throw in" brand new canisters of medicine, he meant throw it in.
All of you guys ( including the kitty cat crew!!) were amazing! Can't wait to see you next time for vaccines & castration..Will be able to chit chat a little more in a non emergency setting!! 💙
For those of you who know that my sister, Katie Adams Propst , is a local Veterinarian, Newport Veterinary Hospital does not specialize in large(farm) animals. But definitely go see her for pets!!
