Role play isn’t always easy—it can feel awkward—but our team makes it goofy, fun, and meaningful.

This week they practiced teaching group responding with imitation. For early intervention, responding to songs with imitation is an important classroom skill. It keeps learners engaged and helps them practice new skills in a playful way.

Our staff didn’t just practice—they nailed it. And the best part? They carried those skills right into sessions with their learners the very next day.

So proud of this team for leaning in, having fun, and making practice count!

This year’s tournament shirt isn’t just apparel, it’s a tribute to Charlie. ❤️🧌

We chose a classic pocket tee, the style he wore every day, paired with a Boglin Troll design, a nod to one of his favorite quirky collections. Boglins capture Charlie’s humor, spirit, and the fun he brought to everyone around him.

Shirts must be purchased in advance using the link, no shirts will be sold on site!

I come to you with a heavy heart to share devastating news. Our Director of Development, Charlie Presler, lost his life to a random act of violence on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

Chrysalis would not exist without Charlie’s unwavering dedication and support. As the husband of our founder, Tobie, he listened to her dream of opening a nonprofit to serve children on the autism spectrum—during a time when funding and options were scarce. He made that dream a reality when he purchased and upfitted the very first Chrysalis clinic in 2007.

Again and again, Charlie helped us grow, securing our second and third locations and turning them into joyful spaces to meet the needs of the children we serve. He often joked that he didn’t always understand the work Chrysalis was doing, but he knew it mattered. He gave more than he could afford, trusting God to keep Chrysalis in a position to provide life-changing services.

Charlie also organized our annual golf tournament fundraiser. Through his leadership, 2024 was our biggest yet, (Pictured below on the left with fellow board members). At our most recent board meeting, he was energized by the mission and already planning for growth in the future. His heart was generous, and his love showed daily in the ways he served our children.

Please join me in praying for his family—especially Tobie—as they begin to process this unimaginable loss. May we find comfort in knowing Charlie is now in a place where he can witness the fullness of the goodness that he strove to imitate everyday.

I leave you with this verse:

“Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.”
—Matthew 25:23
