“What I know for sure is that what we dwell upon is who we become.”
~Oprah Winfrey
Humans are naturally biased to think negatively. It’s what kept Lucy, our most famous early human ancestor, alive!
Research has shown that we are “Velcro” for negativity and “Teflon” for positivity. Isn’t that crazy? But think about it! You had a great day at work and then a co-worker says something snarky to you. What’s the first thing you report when asked about your day?
dwell on — think, speak, or write at length about a particular subject, especially one that is a source of unhappiness, anxiety, or dissatisfaction.
“Dwell on” means you’re in the past. And there is NOTHING you can do about that. When you catch yourself in the past, try to reframe your thinking.
Example: Instead of “That was such a bad relationship,” how about “What does my ideal relationship look like?” Start envisioning what that will look and feel like and most importantly, FEEL those positive feelings like you’re already in that relationship.“ Give it a try! You have nothing lose except negative thoughts!
Have a MAHVELOUS day, my loves! Sending you love, light, and healing! 💜✨🌈

🫶🏻 May is Mental Health Awareness Month and this year’s theme is “MORE THAN ENOUGH”
🫶🏻 For those of you struggling with anxiety, depression, loneliness, being misunderstood or not accepted for who you are, etc. know YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
🫶🏻 The odds are high that you have people close by that love you and would do anything to help you, but you have to reach out. I know how easy it was to put on my “happy face” while feeling like I was drowning in depression. Consequently, people didn’t know I was in trouble! Take the first step and tell someone! Trust me. They want to be there for you!
🫶🏻 And if you don’t feel you have that support, has great resources (🔗 in bio). If you’re feeling like you want to harm yourself, call #988. Someone is waiting to listen and support you.
A while lotta life has happened in the past few weeks which is why class was cancelled. And now, a long planned trip is coming up.
Sooooo…… classes will resume mid-April!
Looking forward to seeing all you beautiful souls! And until then remember to
✨ LET GO- of all that no longer serves
you
✨ BREATHE- long deep breathing fills your body with oxygen (fuel for cells) and stimulates your body to go into relaxation mode
✨ BE- Be yourself! Be present in each moment you’ve been given. Be the light you wish to see in the world.

Are you living your best life? Life is too short not to be!
Below is the story of one of my clients that popped up in my Memories!
Victoria Downs Healing Arts is feeling inspired with Donna Marie Jackson
·
I am so inspired by the work I am blessed to do and would love to share a story about an incredible change my friend Donna Marie Jackson experienced. Thank you, Donna for letting me share this!
Last October Donna became very ill and was hospitalized in NC with acute respiratory distress. She needed oxygen and had to use a wheelchair to get around. Her doctors told her that the soonest she would go home would be a week later and that she would definitely need oxygen and a wheelchair. She also was having a lot of pain at her catheter site and had cellulitis (an infection) in her left arm.
On a Thursday night, I was in the San Francisco area and called Donna to check on her. She was understandably distressed and worried about her situation. Donna has been receiving Healing Touch from me since February 2018. I offered to do a long-distance Healing Touch session for her. She agreed. Because it was around 10 pm EST, I encouraged her to close her eyes and go to sleep. She agreed, and we said goodnight. I did the Healing Touch session from my hotel room in the Bay area and then went to bed.
When I awakened the next morning, there was a text from her that said she woke up feeling at peace; that her catheter was no longer hurting for the first time in weeks; the redness in her arm was gone; and that her breathing was improved to the point that she no longer had a coughing fit when taking a deep breath. She said the doctors were very surprised!
A few hours later she texted me to tell me “The doctors thought I look so amazing that I am now home!”
When I saw her on Monday, she looked incredible, was not wearing oxygen, nor did she need a wheelchair! We were all in awe of this process!
Healing Touch combined with life coaching and my knowledge of meditation, mindfulness, and yoga is how I help people make positive change in their mind and bodies. As a master's prepared RN, I truly understand how the ravages of stress can dramatically affect our minds and our bodies. I am so grateful to do this work I love!
Working with people to develop the skills and tools to truly heal themselves, freeing themselves from anxiety, depression, pain, being “stuck” gives me so much fulfillment. Having suffered with anxiety and depression for years myself, I want to help people get their lives back before it’s too late!
While I can’t promise that all my clients will have such a quick and amazing response, I have discovered (from my own personal experience as well as my clients’) that if you want to heal badly enough and you have great support and guidance, you will!
Do you know anyone who is struggling with anxiety, depression, pain, or unable to move forward in their life because they feel “stuck?” I have room for five (5) Let Go and Live Your Life! consult sessions next week!
I would be honored if you would share this post with someone who is struggling and wants to really LIVE and LOVE their ONE WILD & PRECIOUS life! Or, DM if you could use some support yourself. Distance is not an issue! I would love to help!
Make a CHOICE to take a CHANCE to make a CHANGE! 💜🌈✨

I have been an oncology nurse for 35 years, functioning in diverse roles, from staff nurse to clinical specialist to educator to manager, and now working part time in hospice. I have spent my life trying to heal others or bring them comfort. In 2012, I was seeing a therapist for depression and anxiety. She recommended I start practicing yoga as a way to help “wind me down.” I typed in “yoga” on Amazon and the word Kundalini popped up. For those of you that know me, you know I’m all about funky, cool, hippie so my curiosity was piqued!
I ordered three Ravi Singh/Ana Britt “Raviana” DVDs and within a week I was hooked. I would come home after a 12 hour day, put on my yoga clothes and get on my mat. One day, I did a meditation for releasing negative emotions. Ravi Singh asked for us to think about something that made us sad which was incredibly easy for me at that time and before I knew it, I had crocodile tears streaming quietly down my face. His next direction was to think of something that made me afraid. That too was easy and the tears continued to flow. His last direction was to think of something that makes you angry. After each question, we chanted Sa Ta Na Ma three times. When I finished the meditation, the tears had stopped and I felt as thought someone had taken a huge weight off of my shoulders. I felt lighter than I had felt in years. That is when I knew that I was on a wonderful new path.
I saw my therapist one more time about a month after I had started practicing Kundalini yoga and I never saw her again. I went off my anti-depressant and after a year, I quit carrying an emergency Ativan in my purse (I know those of you who have had panic attacks will understand!).
That path I am on is understanding the power of our thoughts and how they affect us. Energy follows thought. Change your thoughts, change your life! I learned about letting go of “that which does not serve my higher good .” “Let go, breathe and be!” was the mantra Mahan Rishe taught us. He also taught me about my “attachments”-things that I held onto out of ego, fear, etc. that I have also learned to let go of (Mike is most grateful for this! ;) lol)
In January 2013 I started Kundalini Level I Teacher Training at Kundalini Yoga Boston. I met the love of my life, Mike Downs and started this wonderful journey I am now on! I decided to become a Healing Touch Practitioner and through that program learned of and was accepted into Duke University’s Integrative Health Coach program. I will officially become a Healing Touch Practitioner in February 2019 and will be an Integrative Health Coach at the end of June 2018!!
So here I am! This hippie, lovin’ life mom/wife/friend/aunt oncology/hospice RN, Kundalini Yoga instructor, Healing Touch Practitioner-Apprentice and very soon to be Integrative Health Coach ready to help others heal themselves and achieve their goals! I have learned so much and cannot wait to share it with all of you!
