Measles cases continue to arise in our state of South Carolina, mostly in the Spartanburg area, but now exposures have also occurred at the Greenville, SC Airport.
The majority of cases have been in unvaccinated individuals, with only few cases in partially vaccinated individuals (meaning they have received one out of two doses of the MMR vaccine). No cases of measles have occurred in fully vaccinated individuals.
If your child is not up to date with their MMR vaccine (one dose of MMR by age 1 year and two doses of MMR by age 4 years), please call our office to schedule a well visit or vaccine appointment.
For more information about current cases and signs/symptoms of measles, read the SC DHEC announcement below.
