WATER RESTORED - Rock Island Clinic Reopens Tomorrow

Good news! Water service has been restored to our Rock Island clinic and we'll be open tomorrow, Tuesday 8/26.

However, the boil water order remains in effect. For your safety and ours, we're taking these precautions.

Our safety measures:
• Alcohol-based hand sanitizer (60%+ alcohol) will be our primary hand hygiene method
• Bottled water available for essential hand washing (like before handling contact lenses)
• Distilled/sterile water used where needed
• Signs posted throughout the clinic reminding everyone about the boil order

Your health and safety are our top priorities. We appreciate your understanding as we follow these temporary protocols during the boil water advisory.

🚨 ROCK ISLAND CLINIC CLOSED TODAY - Water Outage

Due to a city water outage affecting our area, our Rock Island clinic is closed today (8/25/25). The City of Rock Island has issued a boil order for residents and businesses between 24th Street and the Moline border, from 31st Avenue to the Rock River.

All patients with appointments in Rock Island today should have received a text/email with instructions: ✅ Dr. Kirk and Dr. Boehm's patients have been moved to our Bettendorf clinic today ✅ All other appointments will have to be rescheduled.

Phishing Email Alert
We received a few phone calls this morning saying that they received an email that indicates Eye Surgeons Associates has a statement for them to review and to click on the link. We do not email patient statements. All statements are physically sent via mail through the post office. Do not click on the link in the email.

We investigated and determined the email is not coming from ESA. There has been no data breach. This is similar to other phishing emails you may have received from UPS, USPS, various banks etc. being sent randomly hoping to catch you.

Here are a couple of tips to help you identify fakes and remember to contact the company directly if you have any questions about authenticity:
• Pay attention to the address bar. To be on the safe side, make sure the website starts with https:// before entering any personal information.
• Check the domain name. Make sure that the website that you are on is correctly spelled and not mimicking a well-known brand or company.
• Watch for poor grammar and spelling. An excess of spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar mistakes can indicate that the website was put together fairly quickly with no regard for professionalism.
• Look for reliable contact information. If you can find another way to contact the brand or company, reach out to them to confirm the email is real.

New Phone System Monday, July 29

ESA is replacing our current phone system Monday, July 29th as the current system is no longer supported. The current call flow and queue configuration settings are mirrored in the new system and one new feature we think you’ll love is the ability to have us call you back, if you can no longer remain on hold.

While we’re not anticipating any major issues, there will definitely be some things that pop up when we go live. IT will be onsite to assist us in addressing those as quickly as possible, but if there are extended issues, or you must get ahold of us, please remember that you can make regular eye exam appointments and message us through the patient portal. We appreciate everyone’s patience as we move forward with this project.
