❤️ Fun Facts About Heart Health❤️

1. Your heart works really hard!
The average heart beats about 100,000 times a day, pumping blood nonstop to keep your body energized.

2. Your heart could fill a swimming pool!
Over a lifetime, the heart pumps roughly 1.5 million barrels of blood—that’s enough to fill more than 200 tanker trucks!

3. Laughing is good for the heart.
A good laugh can boost circulation and relax blood vessels, helping your heart work more efficiently.

4. Exercise gives your heart a “happy boost.
”Even 10 minutes of light movement—like walking or stretching—can help improve heart function and lower stress levels.

5. Your heart has its own electrical system.
It creates its own electrical signals, which is why it can keep beating even when separated from the body (in medical settings like transplants).

6. The heart is surprisingly small.
Despite its power, the heart is only about the size of a fist—yet it's the hardest‑working muscle in the body.

7. Staying hydrated helps your heart pump.
Water helps your blood flow more easily, reducing strain on the heart.

8. Laughter and dancing boost heart health.
Both increase heart rate, improve circulation, and reduce stress—fun and healthy!

🌟 Celebrating Activities Professional Week! 🌟

Yesterday our Executive Director, Gavin, treated our Activities team to a wonderful lunch at Sapporo in honor of Activities Professional Week — and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the amazing work they do every single day.

Our Activities Director, Delcy, pours her heart into making life here vibrant, joyful, and full of meaning. Whether you’re a resident or a staff member, she finds a way to bring fun, creativity, and connection into your day. She enriches the lives of our residents mentally, physically, and emotionally. From employee rafting trips, carnivals, and parties to taking residents to the fair, hosting the best games, and creating unforgettable special events — she does it all. We are truly grateful for her passion and dedication. 💛

Our Activities Assistant, Cassie, brings so much warmth to our community. She’s friendly, compassionate, and always ready to brighten someone’s day. She’s willing to help wherever she’s needed, and to many residents, she feels like a best friend. Her work helps make daily life richer, happier, and more engaging. 💐

Thank you, Delcy and Cassie, for all you do.

Your kindness and hard work make our facility feel like home in the very best way. 💖✨

Happy Activities Professionals Week!!
Let's🐾 Meet Luna, the Heart of Our Home 🐾

If you’ve ever walked through our halls and felt a little extra warmth in your day, chances are Luna had something to do with it. 💕 Our sweet resident dog has a way of knowing exactly when someone needs a nudge of comfort, a wagging tail, or a quiet presence by their side.

Luna spends her days making rounds—curling up next to a favorite chair, patiently listening to stories she’s heard a hundred times, and greeting everyone like they’re her very best friend. She doesn’t care about age, mobility, or memory… only about love. And she gives it unconditionally.

For many of our residents, Luna is more than a dog—she’s a companion, a listener, a reminder of pets they once had, and a source of joy on even the hardest days. The smiles she brings, the laughs she sparks, and the calm she creates are truly priceless.

We are so grateful for the comfort, happiness, and countless tail wags Luna brings into our home every single day. 🐶💖 Thank you, Luna, for reminding us all how powerful a little love—and four paws—can be.
