My job is so awesome!!! I get to train all different types of people, at all different levels of fitness, all different ages, and all different goals. Last night I had the pleasure of starting Sean as a private training client. Sean is a high level runner, who has committed to Bucknell to run Cross Country. Awesome!!! We spoke about his goals and his challenges. We are specifically working on pure strength training with me and explosive strength with Coach Tony. We want to improve his strength so his lefs don't gas out and he gets a string kick at the end of races. This is going to be fun!!! Let's do this Sean!!!!

Recovery and rest aren’t the “extra” part of a fitness routine — they’re where the gains actually happen. Training is the stimulus; recovery is the adaptation. Here’s why it matters so much 👇
💪 1. Muscles Grow During Rest (Not the Workout)
Training creates micro-tears in muscle fibers
Recovery repairs and rebuilds them stronger
Without rest → breakdown > rebuild → stalled progress
No recovery = no gains
🧠 2. Your Nervous System Needs a Break
Especially with:
Heavy lifting
High-intensity interval training
CrossFit, sprinting, combat sports
The central nervous system (CNS) gets fatigued before muscles do. Overworking it leads to:
Slower reaction time
Poor coordination

Lack of recovery increases risk of:
