A proud Rockford native, Louise is the oldest of three children. Growing up, she played basketball and baseball with the neighborhood kids, forever a Cubs fan. Later in life, she began working at the same factory her mother once did. It was there she met Alan, and the two went on to share 63 wonderful years of marriage. Louise and Alan built a beautiful life together, spending 50 years in their cherished home with a spacious yard. Louise especially loved gardening, filling their yard with vibrant flowers that they would admire together from the back deck each evening. They once adopted a cat to keep Alan’s father company, and after his passing, the cat and Louise formed a special bond. Together, Louise and Alan enjoyed a full social life — going out with friends, potlucks, playing cards, joining bowling leagues, and traveling with their senior club, including fun casino trips. Some of Louise’s favorite memories are from their travels to both coasts, especially their time in Hawaii and Yellowstone National Park. One of Louise’s many talents is sewing. Over the years, she has made baby blankets as heartfelt gifts, crafted much of her own clothing — including the stylish blazers she still wears — and even made team shirts for her bowling league.
Today, Louise has found a warm and welcoming home at Independence Village, surrounded by familiar faces and activities she loves. Whether it’s Bingo, Bunco, or a lively card game, you can always count on Louise to join in with a smile.Louise is loved by all!
