A client asked if there was meaning behind my logo. Yes, there is! Being part Pitta dosha..I thought long and hard about ny logo.

I knew I wanted to incorporate some symbolism of the Doshas- nature’s elements and the constitutions we are born with.

Ayurveda is an ocean and it was tough coming up with a logo that encapsulates all that it is.

The circle stands for eternal, wholeness, and the cycles of nature.
blues: air, space, wind ( Vata Dosha)
red pink: fire & water ( Pitta Dosha)
mustard/brown: earth & water ( Kapha Dosha)

I really love the way it turned out!

In this yoga series at the Family Peace Center, Miranda, MA, Trauma Informed Certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor, and Certified Yoga Teacher, welcomes you to connect by first making your way to your Self. She will offer you practices of somatic movement, calming and strengthening yoga poses, guided meditation, and breathwork. Each person will be given choices in the way you want to move or not move.

When used appropriately these practices can help with:
*connecting to your body
*ease anxiety
*regulate our emotions
*identify where trauma is being held in the body
* release stagnant energy
* create a container of safety within one self
* softening the body
* self-compassion
* giving ourselves the freedom to find joy

A container of safety will be created to hold space for each other collectively as we explore our truths through reflection,self-inquiry, and writing.

Welcome yourself to unravel and become!. Your body is your home, and it’s your birthright to live in it with ease!

It’s been a while since I have posted anything here.✨🌿

I felt it was time to offer some updates.

I have had people go to my former location not knowing I moved, I have had people ask me where I have moved, where I have been (since I am not as active here on these platforms)…So I thought it would be good to offer some answers.

Where I Relocated: Since March, both Calm Yoga and its sister business, Healing Home Ayurveda are located inside of the Along the Path mental health services building, 433 Phelps Ave, Rockford, 61107. Both are new business models with expanded services. Check out my services at: www.healinghomeayurveda.com There you can also sign up to receive my “Healing” Newsletter, to stay updated and access related information.

Also follow . Although there is cross over, Calm Yoga and Healing Home are separate.

Where I Have Been: Over the past few years I have reduced the amount of time I am on social media. By the time I engage in my own self-care practices,work with my clients/students, community engagement, do my “mom” job, and cook for my family…it’s then the time for me to self-preserve.

It’s important for me to try to embody what I suggest to other people; preserving your energy will decrease your chances of burning out. Self-preservation allows me to fully show up for myself, my people..both personally, professionally, and in the community.

In a nutshell that is where I have been and where I am at! I do have the intention to create the space to post more regularly. Let’s see what unfolds!

**However, I am fully supportive of taking social media breaks to boost and support mental health. I know social media is conflicting for many. I respect it. And I get it.

In this workshop, Miranda Grisales-Buell, MA, Trauma Informed Certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor, and Certified Yoga Teacher, welcomes you to connect by first making your way to your Self. She will offer you practices of guided somatic movement, nurturing yoga poses, guided meditation, and breathwork. Each person will be given choices in the way you want to move or not move.

I actually am very content in Winter.

But I also know SAD( seasonal affective disorder) is real. And depression and anxiety can especially be worse during this season if we don’t have some winter tools.

Maybe you don’t have any mood imbalances but just crave the summer.

When I see or hear how much you despise this snow and cold. I get it.

I have been there. It was torture.

That was years ago.

One of the things that helped me was working on shifting my mindset about Winter and aligning myself with winter rituals, habits, and or routines. We are nature. Our bodies will naturally lean into it. But we have been conditioned otherwise. Most of us are not raised to think seasonally.

Here are a couple of books I suggest to others. I know I mentioned one of these a couple of years back. But it’s worth another mention in case it didn’t speak to you then. Both can be heard via audio in case you are not in a place to read. Depression and/or anxiety are not always friendly to reading. No pressure.

Winter will be gone soon but it will be back again. It’s not too late to start just one helpful routine.

Trauma Conscious Groups or Individual Lead Yoga for women. These session/s are for the sensitive nature of a participant with trauma symptoms. Some symptoms could include anxiety, depression, stress, health, and behavioral concerns.Using gentle and restorative yoga poses, participants can practice making choices about breath and movement, while creating greater self-regulations and building resiliency.

Postpartum Doula Care. Offering support and care for a mother 6-8 weeks after delivery, starting from the day your baby is born. A mother can always choose how long she would like support. Services include nurturing tools and techniques that rebuild whole health after pregnancy. Happy Mom, Happy Baby.

It’s Earth Day! The New Moon is upon us!

I thought it was a perfect day to share “ Moon Milk”.

Moon Milk is also known as a relaxing Sleep Milk that aids in destressing the body for deeper rest and well...improved sleep.

I am from the school of thought that it is best to prime the body throughout the day for an easier transition to bed . In other words you do not have to wait right before you go to bed at night to relax the body.

I enjoy Moon Milk in the afternoon ; it’s my liquid meditation when I don’t have the time to breathe or nap. But it is equally as nice if you take it in the morning or before bed .

There are a few variations of “ Moon Milk”. This milk recipe is great to counter any adrenal fatigue and balance hormones . The herb Shatavari pairs well with Ashwaganda .

Ashwaganda : Strengthens Nervous System. Boost Immunity.

Shatavari : Female Health; conception, menopause symptoms, PMS, postpartum, and healthy milk production for breastfeeding . ( and lots more)

Moon Milk🌚 2 servings

1/4 tsp Ashwaganda
1/4 tsp Shatvari
1 1/2 Cups Macadamia Nut Milk ( or any quality milk of your choice; no soy milk)
2 Tbsp Tart Cherry Juice
4 tsp Coconut Butter

1. In a saucepan heat all ingredients until a simmer.
2. Whip and froth with a whisk OR carefully place in a blender.
3. Serve

And relax!
