Project SEARCH at Mercyhealth

Project SEARCH at Mercyhealth Project SEARCH is a one-year internship program for students with disabilities in their last year of high school.

Project SEARCH is a ten-month school-to-work transition program for students with disabilities with total workplace immersion, classroom instruction, career exploration, on-the-job training and job development support. It is targeted for students whose goal is competitive employment in the community. The program is headquartered at
Mercyhealth Hospital - Rockton Avenue. Students participate in u

p to three internships to explore a variety of career paths. Each student works with a team that includes his or her family, a teacher, employment specialists, and a rehabilitation counselor to create an employment goal and to support the student during the transition from school to work.

Last day of transition week. Wow did it go by so fast but with so many fun and meaningful memories!! Today Alex from RAMP joined us for mock interviews! It was a really special moment as every intern has worked with or met Alex in the past and helped with their comfort with interview questions. Thank you Alex a ton, it truly was a great way to end a great week!

Our last day of bus training was complted with a twist, we had to do a transfer from the hospital to the mall!
While at the mall it was great to see the interns just be young adults walking around the mall/ shopping with their peers and just being young adults.
We got great feedback from the interns on how bus training went in their eyes! 
I am truly sad to see bus trying to come to an end. We had so much fun together as a whole. Thank you again RMTD bus drivers for being so amazing and patient.
