Do you make your kids crazy too when you ask about ingredients at restaurants? I try not to embarrass them too much, really I do, but I always always have to ask if they have real butter...

Read the post here with my rant about a restaurant we went to and find out WHY butter is so good for us!

It's easy peasy to love & be kind to those who are all sweet and loving toward us, but when they're jerks, THAT'S where the rubber meets the road. It's not easy living this out though, obviously! (Jesus will help if you ask.)

This is my favorite line from my favorite movie, Woodlawn. It's a football movie of all things, and I could care less about football, but the true story is AWESOME.

The quote is from Matthew 5:46 and Luke 6:32.

If you go to the site listed on the photo (ExposingFoodToxins.com) and check out the brands with low or no residue, you’ll see that ALL of them have seed oils, even the organic ones!

Either make bread yourself or ask around in your area to find a better brand, nowadays it is not easy but also NOT impossible!

If you’re local, message me and I’ll tell you what brands are good in West Michigan. Otherwise, hint: try ! Look for no seed oils (soybean, canola, sunflower) and VERY few ingredients that you recognize.

The link takes you to my easy sourdough recipe (including a how-to video).

Real, traditional foods are powerful! Many health issues just melt away when you go back to a nourishing diet.

That's why I wrote my book: to help make real, healthy food less overwhelming and show how easy it is to make the switch!

And the whole first chapter is a grocery store cheat sheet. :)

Happy Resurrection Day!

Yes, it's another Chosen photo, did you take my advice and watch it yet? If not, do it today, you will love it, trust me!

Enjoy your celebrations today, and let's remember to lift up in prayer all those who are alone today, or who are sad or suffering in any way. Lord hear our prayers!

I love to cook and share healthy, real food meals, whether it's for friends who are sick or a young family with a new baby. And when blessing people I care about with nourishing food, I learned from the best. As I said in the dedication of my *Real Food for Rookies* book, throughout my life I watched Mom take meals to her elderly friends or to a neighbor who wasn't feeling well. It was her way to bring them a little happiness, and there's really nothing that can do that the way comfort food can!

So in this post I list all of the meals that are easiest for transporting, that don't take a ton of time, and are usually a hit with everyone. By the way, most of these meals are also great for bulk cooking days to fill up your freezer too.

I’ve gone back and forth on my favorite organic olive oil and in recent months I’ve been loving this new OOO--it's so good on salads or drizzled over my sourdough bread! The flavor is mild and wonderful, no pungent after-taste.

Also there are tons of health benefits. Read all about those and/or just shop for some here:
