At OSF, we honor our Mission Partners who go above and beyond to live out our Mission to serve with the greatest care and love. The Awesome Mission Partner Award (AMP Award) honors this tradition.

This month we have two Security Mission Partners, Anthony B. (second from left) and David S. (third from left), who were honored by leadership with AMP Awards.

David and Anthony were both working the late shift when a family came into the ER looking for their loved one. The family said that Anthony was very kind, patient and professional as he helped them to the family consult room. They said he went above and beyond to keep them calm and displayed tremendous empathy.

The family said David was a great help as well as family was trying to get into the building after hours. Both went above and beyond to be kind to the family and made their experience better.

Great work, Anthony and David!

At OSF, there’s Only One Jessica!

This week’s goes to Jessica C., RN. Jessica recently received a DAISY Award, which is a national recognition that honors nurses for going above and beyond to care for their patients.

Winners are nominated by patients and their families. Here is what Jessica’s nomination stated:

“Jessica was clear and thorough with her explanations of what was going on with my mom and she was also very transparent in what she was unable to share, which I appreciated. She let me know exactly who to speak to so I could obtain the information I wanted/needed, and even when they were expected to be in the ICU. She went above and beyond in terms of the care I watched her give my mom. She just gave off a kindness and gentleness that suited the situation perfectly, and it seemed very natural, not like she was faking it for the sake of the family. It was comforting whenever she came in because I knew my mom was getting the best care available. Thank you, Jessica!”

Jessica was honored by her coworkers and leadership as they presented her with a certificate, DAISY Award pin and a banner to be hung on the floor where she works. Congrats, Jessica!

At OSF, there’s Only One Dr. Ghassan Soud!

In this week’s Mission Partner Monday, we showcase Dr. Ghassan Soud, pediatrician at OSF Medical Group locations in Machesney Park, Loves Park, Roscoe and Rockton.

Dr. Soud has many years of pediatric experience and even did training at OSF HealthCare Children's Hospital in Peoria.

“As a pediatrician, I do preventive health, regular checkups, vaccines, school and sports physicals, growth and development monitoring, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, chronic condition management for things such as asthma or allergies, nutritional counseling and much more,” Dr. Soud said.

Dr. Soud enjoys meeting new patients and their families as well as building trust.

“I listen to my patients and their families and provide them with high quality care and evidence-based recommendations,” Dr. Soud said. “My staff and I strive to provide our patients with active listening, personalized communication, respect of patient preferences and to make the patient and family feel they are truly cared for.”
