In light of Nurses Week, I wanted to share a little about my journey in nursing and healthcare. 💙
I started immediately after high school at Rock Valley College, where I earned my Associate Degree in Art, before completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Saint Anthony College of Nursing.
My nursing career began in skilled rehab and nursing home care, where I developed a strong appreciation for compassionate, patient-centered care. I later transitioned into the hospital setting working in Women’s and Children’s Services, which further strengthened my passion for helping patients and families through all stages of life.
My advanced education originally began with the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner program at Loyola University Chicago, but I ultimately decided to transition into a Family Practice program so I could care for patients of all ages and both men and women. In 2020, I earned my Doctorate degree in Rockford at Saint Anthony College of Nursing and began working as a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner serving patients throughout the Rockford area.
Eventually, that passion led me to open my own practice, Handsome Health, PLLC, where I continue providing care to our community.
Nursing has given me the opportunity to meet incredible people, build meaningful relationships, and make a difference in the lives of others. Thank you to all the nurses who continue to show compassion, resilience, and dedication every day. Happy Nurses Week! 💙
