Congratulations to our Maternal-Fetal Medicine team at Javon Bea Hospital–Riverside on their successful reaccreditation by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM).

AIUM ultrasound practice accreditation is a peer review process that allows practices to demonstrate that they meet or exceed nationally recognized standards in the performance and interpretation of diagnostic ultrasound examinations. The accreditation process encourages providers of diagnostic ultrasound services to assess their strengths and weaknesses and initiate changes to improve their practices.

Practices accredited by AIUM have demonstrated competency in every aspect of their operation, including:
• Personnel education, training and experience
• Document storage and record keeping
• Policies and procedures safeguarding patients, ultrasound personnel and equipment
• Instrumentation
• Quality assurance

Today is Thank a Fellow and Thank a Resident Day! šŸ’™

We want to celebrate and thank our incredible resident and fellow physicians for all the hard work they do throughout the year!

What's the difference?!
- Residents are doctors who have completed medical school and are gaining specialty training. They work closely with our attending faculty, learning hands-on while providing excellent care.
- Fellows are doctors who’ve completed both medical school and residency and are pursuing advanced training in a subspecialty. This extra 1–3 years of training helps them become experts in their field.

We’re proud of the amazing physicians in our programs, including:
Mercyhealth Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program
Mercyhealth Family Medicine Residency Program–Janesville
Mercyhealth Family Medicine Residency Program–Lake Geneva
Mercyhealth Family Medicine Residency Program–Rockford
Mercyhealth GI Fellowship Program
Mercyhealth Internal Medicine Residency Program
Mercyhealth Sports Medicine Fellowship Program–Janesville
