I was once asked by a student the difference between power and presence.

To me, they are one and the same. When a practitioner walks consistently with their helping spirits, the power they loan the practitioner emanates from their being.

Embodying the energy of the helping spirits and one's well ancestors brings the practitioner into an inherent state of authenticity, which naturally impacts and heals others around them. They don't need to do anything specific - their mere presence is restorative and transformative.

My maternal grandfather was a catalyst for me to believe in magic. As a young child, I very much believed in magic because of him. I believed the Brownies -- the "brùnaidh" or Scottish elves -- were watching... especially during the holidays.

At three and a half, I experienced an early morning visitation by a group of twinkling lights about 12" off the floor in my bedroom, accompanied by echoing high-pitched giggles of joy, leaving me rubbing my eyes in awe. I'll remember that until my dying day.

When I came of the age to not believe in Santa, I was told that "Santa" is a Spirit who is very much alive and always available, no matter the age. In fact, I have met the Spirit of St. Nick many times in Non-Ordinary Reality.

In this way, I never stopped believing in magic, and it has changed my life in miraculous ways.

There is no keeping up
only collapsing into what matters

the body rest
the wildness return
the rivers flow.

And it is not failure to fall behind
it is a remembering
a rebellion against the insane machine
the sterile systems
the constant run
the gears grinding toward nothing.

You are a woman built for slow depth
for forests and eros
for natural cycles and raw creation
for guttural intuition and unseen magic.

We are our Ancestor's seeds of hope.

As their descendents, we are their germinated seeds, full of potential.

We can also serve to be receptacles of their traumas, which ask for us to heal them. But we're also a receptacle of their many blessings.

your generational strengths. Your ancestors gave you more than just wounds.
