Afterschool programming returns to The Landing Place this week! Starting tomorrow, 9/9, programming will run every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1:30-4:30PM. The Drop-In Center is open Monday through Friday - hours are 10AM-4PM every day except Friday, where we close up shop a bit earlier at 2PM. Each Wednesday, we have a special themed programming, whether its Community Minded Jobs, Rainbow Room, or Creative Vibe Collective. After School Programming (starting 9/9): T, W, Th 1:30PM-4:30PM
Drop In Center M-Th 10AM-4PM, F 10AM-2PM

Community Minded Jobs: 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month
Rainbow Room: 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month
If there is a 5th Wednesday, it is The Creative Vibe Collective

THANK YOU to everyone who joined us last week for our End of Summer Celebration! the amazing RSU13 Youth Alliance always does an awesome job of celebrating our youth together.

In particular, we want to give some special shoutouts to…

- Mark Glovin for once again doing a stellar job DJing and MCing the event
- Todd Bross for bringing over two huge boxes of cinnamon sugar Ruckus Donut Holes
- Su for baking all those delicious cookies
- Russ, Sophia, Nancy, Tanner, Shawn, and Eileen for bringing such uplifting and positive vibes
-Our Drop-In Center/Outreach Team from The Landing Place for setting up, cleaning up, and grilling up so many hot dogs and hamburgers
-Alexis Iammarino for continuing to show up and keep our community-minded traditions alive
-And, of course, to the 40+ local youth who showed up in the early afternoon of a sunny summer day and gave us even more of a reason to celebrate! 🙌

Please join us tomorrow to celebrate the end of summer! We will have the grill going with hot dogs and hamburgers and there will be plenty of lemonade, iced tea, ice cream sandwiches, watermelon, and freezy pops. We will also have Mark G spinning some DJ tunes for us and all sorts of goofy and engaging backyard activities.

TLP SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK!

Please note: The Landing Place is CLOSED tomorrow, July 29, for an all-staff meeting, and there will be no drop-in center programming.
WEDNESDAY, July 30: Creative Vibe Collective will be making tie-dye shirts at the drop-in center!
THURSDAY, July 31: Join us at noon for the "You Don't Need Talent" Talent Show! Free admission, all midcoast youth are invited to perform or sit back and enjoy the show! We'll have food and drinks available as always 🙂 (please note, the poster says July 25 - but we are on for this Thursday!)

Please note, our Wednesday/Thursday programming is for youth ONLY. Thanks team!

The last drop-in workshop for the Community Puppet Library is this Sunday! TLP youth and families are invited to participate in this free event for all ages. We hope to see you there this Sunday - 10AM-1PM at the Flanagan Center!

Summer is in full swing here at The Landing Place and we are looking for some items to help us improve our offerings for youth at our FREE STORE as well as for our activities and outings! Our most needed item of all of these - NEW underwear in all youth and adult sizes and genders, and hygiene items like shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, moisturizer, and sunscreen. If you're looking to make the biggest impact with one or two items, those would be the way to go!

This past month, our friends Renovation Husbands have been hard at work in the backyard of The Landing Place, putting together the greatest backyard revitalization of all time! They reached out to us and our partners at OUT Maine before the month of June to offer us a completely free renovation, courtesy of their sponsors AllModern. We are truly in awe of the work they put in, and we can't WAIT for the youth to see the space themselves. A huge thank you to Haley, Grace, and Arden for raising over $1500 for The Landing Place through their silent auction and car wash fundraiser! They won gold during the SkillsUSA state competition for their original donation of camping supplies and urgent needs equipment to TLP during the winter. For the SkillsUSA national competition, they fundraised for much-needed art supplies for TLP. Thank you so much and CONGRATS to them all for graduating from Mid-Coast School of Technology this year!

Hi folks - we are stocking up for our summer programming! If you are able to donate any of the following items, we would be incredibly grateful. Please reach out to donations@homeworthy.org to set up a drop-off time!

Items we need:
- Flip flops/sandals
- Swimsuits
- Shorts (all sizes, all genders)
- Beach towels
- Boogie boards
- Pool noodles
- Water guns
- Summer hygiene items: deodorant, bug spray, sunscreen
