🎉 Fun Fact Friday 🎉
Did you know organized children’s sports have been around for over a century? ⚽🏀 In the early 1900s, youth sports programs were created to promote teamwork, discipline, and physical health—values that are still just as important today!

Regular exercise helps children build strong bones and muscles, improve coordination, boost confidence, and support both physical and mental health. Best of all, staying active from a young age helps establish healthy habits that can last a lifetime. 🌟

At Pediatrics in Brevard, we encourage kids to move, play, and find activities they love. To learn more about supporting your child’s healthy lifestyle, visit www.pedsinbrevard.com. 💙

🌟 Wellness Wednesday 🌟
Social play is essential for the healthy development of young children. Through play with peers, children learn critical life skills such as communication, cooperation, problem-solving, and emotional regulation. Activities like sharing toys, taking turns, and imaginative play help build confidence, empathy, and strong social connections that support lifelong well-being.

Encouraging playdates, group activities, and unstructured playtime gives children the opportunity to grow socially and emotionally—while having fun along the way! 🧩👫

At Pediatrics in Brevard, we’re proud to support your child’s development at every stage. For more tips on childhood wellness or to schedule an appointment, visit www.pedsinbrevard.com. 💙

❄️ Fun Fact Friday! ❄️

Did you know winter break wasn’t always about holidays and rest? 🎄📚 In the early days of public schooling, winter break existed mainly because harsh weather, limited heating, and transportation challenges made attending school difficult during the coldest months. Over time, it evolved into a much-needed pause for rest, family time, and recharging before the new year! ✨

Today, winter break plays an important role in supporting students’ mental and physical wellness—helping them return to school refreshed and ready to learn.

Wellness Wednesday 🌿 | Helping Kids Handle Holiday Stress
The holidays are full of excitement—but for kids, the change in routines, busy schedules, and big emotions can feel overwhelming. 💛

Here are a few gentle ways to support them:

✨ Stick to routines when you can – familiar bedtimes and meals help kids feel safe
✨ Name the feelings – let them know it’s okay to feel nervous, tired, or overstimulated
✨ Build in calm moments – quiet play, reading, or deep breathing can reset busy minds
✨ Lower the pressure – kids don’t need a “perfect” holiday, just connection

A calm, supported child is the greatest holiday gift of all. 🎁
