For track #4, I wanted a throwback to one of my favorite 80’s movies: The Terminator.

Brad Fiedel composed the original score in his garage, using a Prophet 10, an Oberheim, a drum machine, and a sequencer. I created my own version of the main theme of the OST. The most challenging was recreating the drums. I have 4 tracks in Ableton Live dedicated to different drum sounds and even then, it doesn’t really do it justice.

This is track #3 of my second album Apollo 2. I used long pad notes, some shimmer, dreamy piano notes, lots of delay and sustain effects and modulated with some filters. I wanted the end result to convey a dreamy and floating listening experience. The northern lights visuals are a good match for what I was going for, hence the title of the track, Aurora (borealis).

A New Hope Ambient Soundtrack by SUPERNOVA 49

This track is about hope. Following the opening dramatic sequence, I tried to compose an uplifting melody followed by some ambient notes to match the footage of slo-mo crashing waves.

In terms of sound design, I went for a mix of old strings and electronic synth with a good dose of resonance and some phaser.

Produced with mostly the Capsule VST, this new ambient music track brings back some of the notes from my previous piece "Skyline".

Capsule is a VST from Soundslates. VST stands for Virtual Studio Technology. It's basically a plug-in for a DAW such as Ableton Live. It's a great tool for producing electronic ambient music.

The video footage is a journey through space and ends back on earth.

Skyline Ambient Synth Guitar Track by Supernova 49

For this new track, I wanted to create a very crisp and clean sound to complement the ambience and texture.

There is a massive amount of reverb and delay to give a floating feel. Certain sections of the track feature a sound design reminiscent of the Stranger Things soundtrack for an 80’s feel.

DANGER ZONE Cover by Supernova 49 – Top Gun Song Synth Version

Now and in celebration of the new TOP GUN Maverick movie release, I wanted to make a second tribute track with a heavy dose of retro synth.

For the sound design, I used a creamy synth and guitar with heavy use of filters, delays and reverbs, a dark swarm pad for ambient texture with wobble effect and some drums. Of course, this 80’s Danger Zone cover would not have been complete without some good bass synth.

For the footage, without jets or a carrier at my disposal 😊 I went with a surfing theme. As a kid, I used to do windsurfing and those images sent me back to those years…

Obviously, this is not meant to be like the Danger Zone original rock version. The intent here is for an ambient version with good harmonics (higher, quieter notes), texture and melodies.

"Aura Undae" by Supernova 49

This is track #5 of my new electronic music album.

The visual inspiration comes from the fields of dunes of planet Titan. These vast fields of sand are named after Greek gods and goddesses of wind. The footage on the video is obviously not Titan :) More inspiration came from the first Dune OST, which is a masterpiece.

Titan is the largest moon of Saturn. It has a thick atmosphere that is orange due to organonitrogen haze. So far and other than Earth, Titan is the only object in space with clear evidence of stable bodies of surface liquid. The climate creates surface features similar to those of Earth, such as dunes.

Qi Gong Chillout | Into the Forest by Supernova 49

"Into the Forest" was made specifically for our patients. It features Karine doing a Qi Gong session. It is meant to show an example of active meditation with martial arts as a way to manage stress.

Whether it's martial arts, yoga, jogging on the beach or hitting the gym, the point is to exercise to not only get physically fit but also emotionally strong.
