FALL 2019 Meeting Times THURSDAYS in J - Room A (ASSC Bldg) 2:00-3:00pm

The Psychology Club and Psi Beta meetings will be held this semester on THURSDAYS from 2:00 - 3:00pm in the ASSC building (Bldg J). The first meeting is August 29th, and will be our first day to plan semester events and brainstorm on topics of interest for weekly discussions. Please come even if you can only attend a portion of the meeting, even just to check in and say "hi". Please spread the word as well. The general meeting time sometimes shifts to accommodate schedule availability (meaning, the "time that most members are available"). This will also be discussed at the first meeting. You can also reply below letting us know the best time frames for you for THIS semester. (You can give more than one time frame so that we have options as well.) We will also need to establish Officer Roles. The officer roles are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer.

Campus Cleanup - Sat 3/30 from 8:30-11:30am with free lunch afterwards. Please be sure to add your name to the list if you plan on going so that we can look out for you. :-) The list is on the discussion board on the Canvas shell. If you are not on it yet, see the "sierra.instructure" link on the FB Profile and use that to self-enroll with your Sierra College email address. :-)

Just a reminder about Campus Cleanup tomorrow morning! Remember they start setting up and such between 8 and 9, and we need to sign in. Then we clean from 9 to 12, then FREE PIZZA LUNCH from 12-1pm! Remember though, only Sierra College students can participate, and you have to sign in when you get there for the club to get credit for you being there! See you in the morning on the Rocklin campus at the J7 "ASSC" building! :-)

Keep your eyes peeled Sierra students! Our Psychology Club and Psi Beta will have our very own Canvas page going live some time this summer! If you are still at Sierra or have your Sierra email, and would like to be on the Canvas page, just PM your Sierra College email address and the way you'd like your name to appear on the roster, and we'll get you added. We've got a lot of events planned for this fall, some are pretty big like a special guest speaker even, our first Psi Beta induction ceremony, opportunities to give back to the community, and other events, on top of great conversations about psychological topics and more! So even if you are not able to make it to our weekly meetings, the Canvas shell will be FILLED with lots of info, opportunities, events, 'fun stuff', and more. :-)

MOVIE DAY! The vote is in, and Wednesday, March 14, from 11am to 1pm we have reserved the Cross Cultural Center (next door to the Rocklin Campus Bookstore) to watch the "original" movie called Overboard with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. The movie will likely be played for at least the first half (or as much as we can while everyone is there) and then two weeks later we will play "the ending". (The Wednesday in between we'll be doing a "bake sale" fundraiser for an event we are planning.) We are watching the original Overboard so that we can compare it to the NEW version of Overboard that comes out in April and the roles that Goldie and Kurt played are reversed in the new movie. Both trailers are included here in case you want to see both. Popcorn will be served!

Campus Clean Up is now set for April 7, rather than March due to the weather. It will still be at 8:30am, meet at Bldg J. Come spend time with multiple clubs across campus keeping the campus beautiful by doing Campus Cleanup! Even if you cannot make it to the regular Psychology Club meetings on Wednesdays from 11 to noon, you can STILL do events. Helping with this event helps to raise club funds. Plus, there is usually lunch served afterwards... typically PIZZA!. :-)

Hello everyone and welcome to a new semester! Attached here is the flyer for THIS semester. It seems like the time that works for the MOST who were interested this semester is 11 to noon on Wednesdays. If you cannot be at the meetings, you can still be a part of the club and/or Psi Beta. Just keep in touch here or at the emails listed on the flyer for activities you can participate in that are at other times/days. Another speaker event that focuses on various fields of psychology is also being planned and we'd love your input on who else you'd like to see at this event.
