Hi! 👋🏻 I’m Tamara Word, founder of The Sanctuary. It’s been a while since I introduced myself, and we’ve welcomed some new faces here—so hello and welcome. 🤍

I’ve been a massage therapist for 17 years, and my family and I moved to the Coastal Bend last year—one hubby, five girls, a sweet doggo—with lots of love in tow.

I specialize in deep therapeutic and rehabilitative bodywork, including Cupping, Deep Tissue, Ashiatsu, Myofascial Release, Salt Stone Therapy, and Trigger Point Therapy. While I’m happy to provide lighter work, my true passion is helping clients improve mobility, circulation, and gain long-term relief from chronic or acute pain.

My approach is integrative, blending energetic and structural techniques to support healing for both body and mind—so your results last well beyond the table.
