It’s been a minute and there are so many new faces who have joined in the TÓRA following so here’s a little back ground 🤍
My name is Carissa and I’m the owner of TÓRA. My background started in the Medical field in 2011 where I assisted in skin cancer surgeries as a Dermatology/MOHs Tech. I loved surgery so much that I became a surgical assistant in Cosmetic Plastic Surgery too some pretty awesome and talented Plastic Surgeons and Cosmetic Dermatologists. After 7 years of being in surgical settings I wanted to explore a different avenue of aesthetics and became a Medical Aesthetician. I have been trained on over a dozen lasers and have treated thousands of faces, worked with 22 different skincare lines and list goes on. Working for one of the best Cosmetic Practices in Austin TX opened the door to many opportunities, continuing education and knowledge for me. After being in the medical field for over a decade I wanted to try a go in Holistic Aesthetics. I was burnt out on the politics of medicine and the fast paced nature of it and was ready to slow down. I met an amazing woman who owned the cutest Apothecary Shop in downtown Austin. When I met her I instantly knew she was brilliant! Here’s where I learned the other side of aesthetics. The healing part of aesthetics. The side of being a FACIALIST I never knew existed. I dove deep into continuing education on facial massage, intraoral massage, lymphatic drainage, facial cupping, microcurrent, fascia tissue manipulation, gua sha, and more.——MORE IN COMMENTS
