Access Counseling

Access Counseling To provide affordable counseling to individuals who otherwise could not afford mental health care.

For over three decades, ACCESS (Aransas County Counseling & Educational Support Services) has been a steady hand for the Coastal Bend, providing affordable services and hope when it was needed most. Access Counseling works solely on grants and private donations, we accept any donation - large and small to help subsidize the cost of mental health care for people who wish to help themselves.

Day 2 – Why Access Exists

In the early 1990s, a few neighbors led by Dr. Frances Mayo looked around Aransas County and asked a simple question:

“Why not here?”

Why not local counseling? Why not affordable care?

That question became ACCESS: Aransas County Counseling and Educational Support Services. A place built on compassion, community, and the belief that help should never be out of reach.

Our Story

Aransas County Counseling and Educational Support Service, Inc. (ACCESS) had its beginning in 1992, from a need identified by Dr. Frances Mayo, for affordable counseling services and educational programs for all people. With the help and dedication of many volunteers, ACCESS found a permanent home in 1997 and continues in helping people help themselves.
