The nasty strain of flu that's been hitting elsewhere hard is starting to show up locally. This year's flu vaccine gives some protection and we still have it available free for members. Don't start the new year with a miserable case of the flu.

In other news, the CDC now recommends additional COVID boosters for some. See the attached article (no paywall):

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) vaccine advisory group today recommended a second 2024-25 COVID-19 vaccine dose, spaced 6 months apart, for people ages 65 and older and for people in younger age-groups who have moderate or severe immunocompromising conditions.

Don't give or get the flu with family and friends for the holidays. It's already killed 1,900 Americans this season.

We still have free flu vaccine for members available. It provides some helpful protection against this strain.

For those over 65, consider getting the high dose flu vaccine available at pharmacies (which is covered by Medicare).
