What is PDGF?
PDGF (Platelet-Derived Growth Factor) is a naturally occurring protein that helps signal cells to repair tissue, stimulate collagen production, and support healing. In aesthetics, PDGF is used to try to regenerate under-eye skin rather than simply mask problems as fillers do.
There are two general ways it’s used:
1. Topical or post-procedure application
• A lab-formulated PDGF fluid applied after microneedling, laser, or other treatments to enhance healing and stimulate collagen.
2. Injection under the eyes
• Small amounts may be injected into the under-eye area (tear trough).
✨ What Does It Do
PDGF treatments are aimed at supporting natural skin regeneration:
Stimulates collagen & elastin
• Encourages fibroblasts (cells that make collagen/elastin) — potentially thickening under-eye skin and improving texture.
Improves circulation
• May help brighten shadows/dark circles tied to thin, translucent skin.
Helps with fine lines and crepey texture
• Repeated sessions may reduce the appearance of fine lines over weeks as tissue rebuilds.
Alternative to fillers
• Works by regenerative signaling rather than adding volume, which some people prefer.
Examples of uses
✔ Dark circles from thinning skin
✔ Fine lines/wrinkles under eyes
✔ Mild hollows without filler
✔ Enhancing healing after microneedling/laser
