Meet Nicole! 🎉 Nicole joined our team in 2026 as our new Patient Care Manager. In addition to providing direct patient care and lactation support, Nicole helps manage all aspects of our family‑centered, evidence-based, approach to patient care.

Nicole grew up in Montgomery County and earned her BS in psychology from Towson University. She later received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Montgomery College and will complete her BSN from the University of Maryland Global Campus in May 2026.

Nicole began her nursing career in the Mother‑Baby Unit at Holy Cross Hospital, where she gained valuable experience caring for new mothers and newborns, with a special focus on breastfeeding support. She is excited to bring her skills to outpatient pediatrics and looks forward to building long‑term relationships with the families in our community.

Before becoming a nurse, Nicole spent more than 10 years working at Butler’s Orchard and also served as a substitute teacher for MCPS. Nicole enjoys camping, visiting new places and spending time with family, friends and dogs. 🐶

Our next Baby Q&A session will be held Wednesday, March 11th, from 1–2 PM on Zoom, hosted by our Lactation Consultant: Sharon Curry, IBCLC.

This casual, drop-in meeting is open to all new parents and their babies. Everyone is welcome — moms, dads, breast- or formula-feeding parents, first-time parents, or those with many little ones!

Bring your questions as you navigate your baby’s first year, and our “baby expert” will provide guidance and support.

As many of you may know, our own Dr. Olexa is expecting her second baby this month! Our team gathered to celebrate her growing family and wish her well as she awaits the arrival of their newest addition.

Dr. Olexa will be on leave until June, and we look forward to sharing the wonderful news of the baby’s arrival. 🎉

We caught up with Dr. Hirsch to learn more about his practice’s approach to making life a little easier for new parents.

One way Hirsch Pediatrics does this is by lending families a baby scale when a newborn’s weight needs closer monitoring. Parents can weigh their baby at home and then check in with the doctor during a virtual Zoom visit, instead of having to come in person. Simple and stress-free!

Current Hirsch Families: Friendly reminder that we are CLOSED today, but our partner Hello Pediatrics 🩺 is available for emergency calls to support your family while we spend time with ours.

Just call our main line ☎️ and follow the prompt to be connected to a nurse triage, and if needed, prior to midnight, connected to a pediatrician for a video appointment.

🚨 If your child has a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency room.

*Calls to Hello Pediatrics that result in a video appointment will be billed directly to your insurance.
