Dear parents and caregivers,

Effective July 1, 2023, a proposed amendment to the Autism Waiver Application has been posted for public comment.

The purpose of the amendment is to:
1. Increase FY24 waiver slots by 1350 for a total of 2950;
2. Increase Intensive Individual Support Service (IISS) units to 40 hours per week;
3. Make payments to legally responsible individuals for providing IISS when they are qualified to provide the services;
4. Establish registry requirements for submission time frames and military families, including reserve capacity
5. Clarify the requirement for informed consent prior to the use of virtual supports;
6. Include an exemption option to the definition of electronic verification (EVV) requirements for live-in caregivers to clock in and out;
7. Transition from the Autism Waiver Registry to Autism Waiver Waitlist.
A copy of the Autism Waiver amendment is available on the MDH site at: https://mmcp.health.maryland.gov/waiverprograms/Pages/Home.aspx . Public comments can be emailed to AutismWaiver.msde@maryland.gov. Public comments can be submitted through July 26, 2023.

Yes, we are !! It is hard to believe that what it seemed to be just a dream a year ago, it has now become a reality. Not only have we gone through a very lengthy and daunting process to become Autism Waiver Program providers, but have also had to navigate the intricacies of starting a new business, all at the same time and all new to us.

We are now fully operational and have already started making an impact in our community by serving families in MoCo, Howard County and Frederick County. Thanks to all the families for trusting us with their most precious treasures!! Your trust means the world to us!
