Montgomery County Health and Human Services - MD awarded Hebrew Home of Greater Washington a certificate of recognition for achieving a 76% COVID-19 booster rate among residents.

This milestone was achieved through regular vaccination clinics and education for residents about the important role vaccines and boosters play in keeping our community safe.

Congratulations, Hebrew Home! 👏

Rose Grossman, Ruth Birnbaum and Blu Berman may not have anticipated that an art class at Ring House would lead to being featured in a public art exhibition, but that's exactly what happened for the three residents.

A selection of their artwork is now on display through the end of July at Kensington's Chesapeake Framing Company alongside pieces by their longtime instructor Martina Sestakova.

The exhibition, Artistic Bonds, is a celebration of the womens' creative time, love of art history, and the joy they find in each others’ company in the Ring House art room.

Congratulations Rose, Ruth, Blu and Martina! 👏

We recently donated surplus medical equipment from our employee health clinic to Shiloh Gospel Ministries, a local church that hosts mission clinics serving those in need.

This donation reflects our commitment to compassion, service and supporting the dignity of all people. We're proud to be able to extend the impact of these resources, and proud to partner with other organizations with a mission to give back.

Thank you to Sadia Peal and all those who support these important efforts!

The chicks have hatched at Hebrew Home! Thanks to our amazing recreational therapy team and the Rent the Chicken program, residents at Wasserman Residence have been enjoying a front row seat to the arrival of baby chicks.

Chick eggs arrived in late May, and for the past several weeks residents have been tracking their development, marking milestones and observing the hatching process.

The chicks arrived after 27 days, and now residents are enjoying spending time with them, petting them and just sitting in their presence until they are returned to the farm early next month.

We look forward to welcoming a new batch of eggs (and chicks) and enjoying the process all over again later this summer.

Celebrating 115 years of Hebrew Home! 🎉

A powerful seed of an idea was planted in 1910 when a small group of individuals noticed the need to house, feed and support aging members of the Jewish community. That seed became Hebrew Home for the Aged, today Hebrew Home of Greater Washington, the flagship skilled nursing center of Charles E. Smith Life Communities.

In the 115 years since, our campus has grown to include independent living, assisted living, memory care, senior-focused medicine and an array of other programs and services for more than 1,300 older adults.

Please join us in celebrating 115 years of compassionate care and dedication!
