Shadi Arbabian, M.Ac., L.Ac., Owner
Shadi earned her bachelor’s degree in Public Health from University of Maryland in order to pursue a career in health care services and help provide positive changes in her community. Having earned her Master’s degree in Acupuncture and now pursuing her Doctoral in the field has given her over 3000 hours of combined theoretical and clinical knowledge and experience to provide care for her patients. The event that sparked her intense passion for studying Chinese Medicine was when she began working at the HIV/AIDS research center in Tehran, Iran back in 2012. The work experience there confirmed Shadi’s interest in serving individuals with special needs and it provided her with an opportunity to spend one on one time with patients. Shadi found a lot of value in speaking with patients and spending time to hear their needs while supporting their journey. There she learned to be an active listener and took the first steps in becoming a healer by listening to patients and hearing their needs and requests. It was then that Shadi also learned about words as medicine to guide patients through wellness. Shadi practices in two styles of Acupuncture: Five Element and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). Five Element has a strong emphasis on balancing emotional and spiritual issues, TCM is looking at balancing patterns of disharmony. Both of these styles of Acupuncture relieve pain and treats disease by restoring the normal flow of energy in the body. In her practice of acupuncture, the patient is addressed holistically, in order to treat the root issue of the problem. Shadi is a member of Maryland Acupuncture society, she is Clean Needle, NADA, Traditional Facial Acupuncture Rejuvenation, Facial Cupping, Facial Gua Sha and Microneedle Dermal Roller Certified. Many people overlook acupuncture as an option for athletic recovery and performance because they don't understand how it works.

Our Story

Dr. Shadi Arbabian, D. Ac. , L. Ac.

Having earned her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Acupuncture has given her over 3000 hours of combined theoretical and clinical knowledge and experience to provide care for her patients. The event that sparked her intense passion for studying Chinese Medicine was when she began working at the HIV/AIDS research center. The work experience there confirmed Dr. Arbabian’s interest in serving individuals and it provided her with an opportunity to spend one on one time with patients. Dr. Arbabian found a lot of value in speaking with patients and spending time to hear their needs while supporting their journey. There she learned to be an active listener and took the first step in becoming a healer by listening to patients and hearing their needs. It was then that Dr. Arbabian learned about words as medicine to guide patients through their wellness journey.

Dr. Arbabian practices in two styles of Acupuncture: Five Element Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Five Element Acupuncture has a strong root in balancing emotions and tending the spirit, TCM looks more at balancing patterns of disharmony. Both Five Element Acupuncture and TCM treatments relieves pain and heal what needs tending by balancing the Yin and the Yang on the three levels of body, mind and spirit. Through treatments the smooth flow of energy or “Qi” is restored. At HeavenlyWell, Dr. Arbabian addresses patient’s needs holistically in order to treat the root cause of a disease rather than the branch, which are the symptoms. At HeavenlyWell we believe “Healing Begins Within” and this is what Dr. Arbabian aims to achieve for her patients to accompany them best in their journey to self healing and wellness.
