I am a hobby backyard Beekeeper with too much Honey on my hands.
Up till this year, I haven't had enough production from a single colony to try this idea I have had.
I keep my bees in a few different locations for a number of reasons. Chiefly, because the different circumstance and environment for each hive will teach me something new.
I always stick my finger in a frame of honey before I extract it and last year I noticed the great variety in flavor. This year I decided to extract and bottle each hive separately, not just by location, but by the colony and queen.
Even hives in the same Bee yard will forage differently, by harvesting my hives separately, my customers get to appreciate the subtle and not so subtle differences in the final product.
