Yesterday, HLAA Executive Director Barbara Kelley spoke at the M-Enabling Summit in Washington, D.C., “New Frontiers for Wearables.” The panel discussed accessibility features in wearable technology for people with and other disabilities.

Wearables are an exciting advance because they often integrate wirelessly with existing assistive devices and apps to enhance communication, safety and environmental awareness.

A unique installation has captivated more than a million visitors to the renowned Museum of Science, Boston (MOS) since it opened in the summer of 2024. This one-of-a-kind interactive exhibit was created with involvement from HLAA Board Member Andrea Kaneb and support from the Hearing Loss Association of America - Boston Chapter in a year-long collaboration with the MOS development team.
