Did you know your toothpaste could be working against your health? Something we use every single day (twice, if you’re following the rules) can actually sneak in some pretty toxic ingredients.

That’s why we always encourage our patients to check labels carefully. Here are a few common offenders we recommend avoiding:

* Fluoride → linked to thyroid + neurological concerns

* Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) → irritates oral tissue, disrupts your microbiome, can trigger ulcers

* Triclosan → hormone disruptor, connected to antibiotic resistance, banned from hand soaps

* Propylene Glycol → potential damage to the liver, heart, and nervous system

* Parabens → linked to breast cancer and reproductive issues

* Artificial Sweeteners → disrupt gut health, can affect insulin balance, some tied to cancer

* Diethanolamine (DEA) → impacts the liver, also found in brake fluid + antifreeze (yikes)

* Titanium Dioxide → banned in the EU, associated with cancer + immune system harm
