They interrupt anxiety spirals by reconnecting with your body and surroundings, calming the nervous system and reducing distress.

Try It Out Tuesday: Here is a strategy to consider trying at the dinner table with your family. Have each family member rate their emotions with a “Feelings Thermometer” from 1 to 5.

💡 Example:
🌡️ 1 = Calm
🌡️ 5 = Super Mad

Ask: “What number are you at right now?”
Then: “What could help bring that number down?”

This builds emotional awareness and problem-solving especially for younger children learning to understand their feelings!
