Respect, acceptance and kindness is what the autistic community and their families deserve. Let’s spread facts over fear. ❤️

To all the moms and dads out there listening to President Trump: please don’t be fooled.

❌ Tylenol does not cause autism.
❌ Vaccines do not cause autism.

These myths are recycled scare tactics that hurt families by spreading fear and confusion. The science is clear: decades of research involving millions of children have shown no definitive link between Tylenol, vaccines, and autism.

Children with autism spectrum disorder deserve love, support, and acceptance, not to be used as pawns in political speeches. Women should not be blamed either.

Autism is not a tragedy. The real tragedy is when leaders misuse their platforms to spread misinformation that stigmatizes families and undermines public health.

Let’s be crystal clear:
✔️ Vaccines save lives.
✔️ Autism is not caused by vaccines or Tylenol during pregnancy.
✔️ Every child, autistic or not, deserves respect and dignity.

Parents, you deserve facts, not fear. 💙

Grateful to have had the opportunity to present on two topics very important to me as an SLP at the Apraxia Kids National Conference. Here are some pictures of Aubrie Hagopian and me talking about Evidence Based Practice. Oh and one picture of one of Pittsburgh’s many bridges.

Some ASHA members have been reporting processing issues when speech-language pathology services are billed with F codes "Mental, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental disorders (F01-F99)". Remittance advice from these cases inappropriately suggest these codes are mental health only. We've attempted to seek clarification directly from the reported insurance plans, but we’re still waiting for an explanation.

ASHA Advocacy will keep pushing insurers to clarify and correct this. In the meantime, we've compiled information for members and ask that you contact us at reimbursement@asha.org if you run into this problem and/or have any questions.
