Dr. LaToya McCurdy, DNP, FNP-BC, a healthcare leader from Rocky Mount, NC, is dedicated to improving her community’s well-being. She founded NEWH Regional Medical Center in 2022, which provided essential primary care services across Nash, Edgecombe, Wilson, and Halifax counties. Dr. McCurdy also founded the Jamcha Foundation, Inc., which focuses on improving health outcomes, especially among underrepresented communities in eastern North Carolina.
Beyond her healthcare practice, Dr. McCurdy plays a vital role in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals. As an adjunct faculty member at NC Wesleyan University, she educates students and fosters leadership in the field.
Her public service has earned national recognition, including honors from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners for her leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her work inspires and empowers her community and future healthcare leaders.
