Why some cleaners don’t stick around (from a cleaner’s perspective):
Most cleaners want long-term clients. We value consistency, trust, and mutual respect.
But over time, certain behaviors can make even great cleaners quietly move on.
• Following the cleaner everywhere, watching over their shoulder
• Belittling or disrespectful comments even subtle ones
• The white glove test every visit, especially on floors
• Hiding coins or setting up “tests”
• Late or inconsistent payment
• Lack of appreciation a simple thank you matters
• Continually asking for more without additional pay
(especially add-ons requested when the job is almost finished)
• Unclear or changing expectations
And just to be clear
This isn’t about being afraid of the white glove test or the coins.
That’s not the issue.
The issue is lack of trust.
Being watched, tested, or spoken down to sends a message that your cleaner isn’t trusted and respect matters in any job and any relationship.
Professional cleaning is a luxury service. The best cleaner-client relationships are built on trust, clear communication, fair pay, and mutual respect.
👇 Let’s talk:
Cleaners have you experienced this?
Clients was any of this eye-opening?
Please keep the conversation respectful in the comments.
