Boice-Willis Clinic will be closed on Friday, April 3rd in observance of the Easter holiday.

Normal hours will resume on Monday, April 6th.

Our Walk-In Clinic, located at 921 N. Winstead Avenue, will remain open on Friday, April 3rd from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for established Boice-Willis patients.

For years, Michael Richardson faced incredible challenges after being diagnosed with Interstitial Lung Disease. Treatments, setbacks, and long waits tested his strength at every turn.

Through determination and the dedicated care of Boice Willis Clinic physicians Dr. Priyank Desai (Pulmonology) and Dr. Paul Bondy (Primary Care), along with the support of our clinical team, Michael never stopped fighting.

In October 2025, Michael received a successful double lung transplant at UNC Chapel Hill. Today, he is breathing freely and beginning a powerful new chapter.

Michael shared, “I am just thankful for what the staff at UNC did for me and for Dr. Desai and his nurses staying on me to keep going.”

Stories like Michael’s remind us why compassionate, coordinated care matters.

Celebrating 20 Years of Exceptional GI Care

The Boice-Willis Clinic Endoscopy Center proudly marked its 20-year anniversary this January. Since opening on January 16, 2006, our team has performed an average of 4,000 procedures each year and cared for approximately 3,500 patients annually. All while maintaining full AAAHC accreditation since 2007.

We’re grateful for our dedicated physicians, Dr. Robert Schellenberg and Dr. Mark Anderson, and our incredible care team of RNs, surgical/endoscopy technicians, patient care specialists, and nurse managers.

Last Friday, our Boice-Willis team proudly wore red in support of National Wear Red Day and the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign.

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death among women in the United States. Raising awareness, encouraging preventative care, and promoting heart-healthy lifestyles are steps we can all take to protect the women in our lives.

Our Story

Founded in Rocky Mount over 100 years ago, we are proud to continue the legacy of our founders Dr. Edmund Simpson Boice and Dr. Byrd Charles Willis Healthcare has changed drastically in the last century. Neither Dr. Boice, Dr. Willis nor other early physicians would understand or appreciate the requirements and restrictions on our physicians and staff to care for patients today. The early partnership of Drs. Boice and Willis consisted of two surgeons and one internal medicine specialist. The Clinic is now a multi-specialty practice with over 67 providers representing specialty care in:

  • Endocrinology

  • Family Medicine
