Many of you were inquiring about a case I recently shared in my IG stories, so here it is.
Just about everyday, I get one of these exams… failing implant. 😔
These are so hard to treat. Save vs. explant. Surgical vs. non-surgical. Remove crown or keep on. What biomaterials. Modify implant surface. Which decontamination protocol. Do I want to “inherit the problem.” I could go on and on.
This patient did not want to “start over” and asked if I could save her implants.
Making no promise, I treated her with what has worked very well for me over the years. Check out this case.
Did we regenerate all the missing bone? Nope. 👎
Are these implants going to last forever? Not sure. 🤔
Is my patient happy about not having to start over? 👍
Do I consider this to be a much more stable situation? Hell yeah! 😎
I would love to hear how you are trying to save ailing implants.
And thank you to my good friend as I took a page out of his post. 🙏 Check his account - amazing cases and a lot you can learn from!
