New Life Birth Center New Life Birth Center Our freestanding birth center is staffed by licensed, certified nurse-midwives.

We offer safe, nurturing care in a homelike environment that supports natural birth. Our services include prenatal care, labor and birth services at our birth center, newborn care, postpartum care, and breastfeeding assistance. Our midwives also provide well-woman gynecologic care including physical exams and pap testing.

Midwife Karen Winstead and midwifery student Michele Donnelly set up a table to promote New Life Birth Center and spread the word about the importance of access to midwifery care for mothers and babies in our community at St. John's Episcopal Church as part of an event for The Roanoke Women's Foundation. NLBC is applying for a grant with the theme of "Growing Midwives" with the hopes to further support midwifery education, including our THREE current midwifery students!

Thank you for the opportunity and, as always, a big thank you to our Friends of New Life who continue to support NLBC with your love, prayers, and financial gifts. Your support means families in Franklin County, the Roanoke Valley, and beyond can access safe, sensitive care that meets their needs with kindness and compassion.
