🌟 August Nurse of the Month: Chrissy Norris, RN 🌟

Chrissy knew she wanted to be a nurse since age three and made it happen by 23. Over the past 22 years, she’s built a versatile and compassionate career, from Telemetry and Med/Surg to registry work across various settings, including eight years in pediatric dental surgery.

Before joining home infusion, she found her passion in outpatient oncology infusion. Now, she feels truly at home in home infusion, where she values the deep connections she forms with patients.

Married for 18 years, she’s a proud mom to two kids, including a daughter with Polymyositis - a journey her nursing background helps her navigate. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, hiking, camping, crafting, gaming, and time with loved ones.

Her patients speak volumes about her care:

📋 Home Infusion Nurses: Elevate Your Paper Documentation Game!

Even in a digital world, paper charting still matters in home infusion. It's your clinical, legal, and professional armor.

Here’s how to keep your notes 💯:
✅ Include the essentials:
Patient ID, Accurate Dates & Times, Complete Vitals & Assessments, Medication Names and Dosage, Patient response to treatment, Pharmacy communications, Signature + credentials.

💡 Best practices:
Chart during or right after visits, Use clear, objective language, Correct mistakes the right way, Stay legible! Know APS H&I and pharmacy preferences, Document all patient education. When making corrections, strike a line through the mistake, initial/date, write correction.
• Avoid these pitfalls
• Missing med details
• Confusing abbreviations
• No follow-up notes
• No Whiteout or corrective tape
• Skipped patient signatures

🌟 July Nurse of the Month: Angie Jones, RN, FNP 🌟

Please join us in celebrating Angie Jones as APS’s July Nurse of the Month! Angie brings over 30 years of nursing experience to our team and has served as a Family Nurse Practitioner for the past decade. With 16 of those years spent in oncology, she discovered her true calling—supporting patients through some of their most vulnerable and meaningful moments.

For the past 4.5 years, Angie has been a vital part of the home infusion world, providing expert and compassionate care while also filling in as an NP at four rural health clinics. Her dedication to healthcare and her patients is unmatched.

Outside of nursing, Angie is a proud wife of 38 years, mom to six children, and grandmother to 22—including one she helped raise who recently earned her BSN! When she’s not caring for patients or supporting her family, you can find her crafting, creating mixed media art, or enjoying life at home with three dogs, seven baby chicks, and a pig.
