We LOVE Blue Cross Blue Shield. They are 1000 times easier to work with than any other insurer. If you have a choice, they are easily worth the few extra bucks a month you might pay compared to the others. No other insurer even comes close.

RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus)
It’s here people! It makes the rounds every year about this time. Small children are the most susceptible to complications. Especially newborns and babies under six months old.

Don’t mess around. If your baby under 6 months has a horrible cough and is breathing fast or working hard then let’s get them seen!

If you have an older child that has been diagnosed with RSV, it is very important to keep them away from your newborn or small infant. Adults and older children just get a yucky cough and lots of mucus. It is much worse for newborns and small babies.

We have same-day appointments, but don’t wait if your newborn or small baby is sick and struggling to breathe. Just go ahead and take them to the ER.

Do you need lab results for yourself or your children?

They are available to you on YOUR PORTAL 24/7!
You can print them or email them or do whatever you want with them!
That’s your information so you can do what you want with it.

If you are requesting lab results or records that you need for your personal use and you are not using your portal, there is a different process.

The reason for that is because we are required to protect your information. HIPPA is a law that was past years ago and it does require us to go through certain channels in order to release your information. Even to yourself.

You must sign a release of information consent form. After that is received then the records can be sent electronically via a secure method which is also governed by HIPAA.

In general, we can send records electronically from our secure electronic method directly to another clinic, who receives them securely by their electronic method.

Any other pathway besides this, sometimes requires additional steps.

Please understand that we are required by law to follow certain rules about releasing your records. if we do not follow those rules, we can be fined heavily.

But the good news is, you have access to those records on your portal at all times and your portal is yours and you can do what you want with your own records from there!

About those refills…

- We DO NOT receive electronic refill requests from your pharmacy! They may say they will send a request but we WILL NOT receive it.
- We need at least 2 business days for refill requests. (We often can get it done sooner but no guarantees)
- You can request a refill on your patient portal (It’s sooooo easy!)
- Please be kind to our staff when requesting refills.
