Join us in celebrating Jim and Megan and the work they do each day at PEARL.

Their presence, reliability, and behind the scenes efforts help keep PEARL running smoothly.

Jim marked two years as a Peer Support Specialist at PEARL. He brings lived experience, patience, and steady presence into his work each day, and he is deeply committed to supporting the peers he serves. Jim’s peer support is rooted in listening and mutual respect, walking alongside others and modeling what long term recovery can look like through action and follow through.

Megan marked one year as PEARL’s Administrative Assistant. Megan does a little bit of everything and approaches her work with a positive, thoughtful attitude that is felt throughout the organization. She keeps things running smoothly, steps in wherever she is needed, and brings reliability and intention to each task she takes on. Her presence helps PEARL stay grounded and organized day after day.

We are thankful for Jim and Megan and the dedication they bring to PEARL.

Today, our peer support specialist Ella led a Narcan (naloxone) training at the PEARL Peer Recovery Center. She did a great job providing clear education, real-world statistics, and supportive guidance in a space where people could ask questions and learn without judgment.

A few important facts shared during the training:
* Opioid overdoses remain one of the leading causes of accidental death in the U.S.
* Naloxone can reverse an opioid overdose in minutes if given in time.
* Bystanders are often the first on scene, and having Narcan available can mean the difference between life and death.

This class is for anyone. Whether you’re personally impacted by substance use or care about someone who is, knowing how to recognize an overdose and respond can save a life. Education is a powerful form of support, and today’s training was a great example of that work in action.

Congratulations to Esteban, a resident of our men’s recovery house, on graduating from PEARL’s recovery housing program today.

Esteban entered our program 597 days ago and made a clear commitment to stability, accountability, and growth. During his time with us, he maintained full-time employment with the same employer, completed the Benton County Drug Court program, and demonstrated consistent dedication to his recovery.

He also served our men’s house with integrity and leadership, first as Assistant House Manager and then, for more than a year, as House Manager. In that role, he showed reliability, humility, and care for others, growing tremendously from the day he first walked through our doors.

As of today, Esteban is transitioning into independent living. Graduating our program on New Year’s Eve feels especially meaningful. Tomorrow he begins 2026 grounded in recovery, stability, and hard-earned momentum.

His journey is a powerful reminder of what is possible when individuals are supported with structure, accountability, and compassion. It is also a testament to the impact of recovery housing and the critical role of Benton County Specialty Courts in creating pathways to lasting change.

We are incredibly proud of you, Esteban, and honored to have been part of your journey. Your story brings light and hope to others who are still finding their way.
