PEARL NWA

PEARL NWA A place for healing and growth At PEARL, we believe recovery is possible and deserves compassion, accountability, and community support.

PEARL is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing recovery-oriented, trauma-informed services for individuals and families impacted by substance use and related challenges. Our programming includes recovery housing and a peer recovery center offering peer support services, connection, and resources rooted in lived experience and dignity. We focus on creating safe, supportive environments where

people can build stability, strengthen recovery, and move forward with hope. Our work is grounded in ethical practice, respect, and a commitment to reducing stigma while promoting long-term healing and growth.

May is full of opportunities to stay connected, build skills, and support recovery.

From Peer Power Hour and No Fronts meetings to financial literacy and Naloxone training, there are consistent ways to plug in throughout the month.

A couple important updates:
• The Peer Recovery Center will be closed on May 26 in observance of Memorial Day
• The BCDC Alumni Meeting has been moved to May 18 at 5:30pm

We encourage everyone to stay engaged and make use of the support available. Every step forward matters.

PEARL had the opportunity to attend the Wolfe Street Foundation Red Carpet Recovery Gala in Little Rock last night.

Wolfe Street is one of Arkansas’ Recovery Community Organizations and has played a longstanding role in expanding access to peer-led recovery support. As a fellow RCO, we appreciate their leadership and the work they do across the state.

We’re grateful for the invitation and the chance to be alongside others working to make recovery more accessible.

Today we celebrate Michal as she graduates from the PEARL program.

Over the past 216 days, Michal has shown steady commitment to her growth. She maintained full-time employment, built a consistent routine, and strengthened her work ethic. Along the way, she rebuilt her relationship with her daughter and began saving for her future.

Now, Michal is stepping into her own place and continuing forward with independence and stability.

We’re proud of the work she’s put in and the path she’s creating for herself. 💛

Congratulations to the Benton County Specialty Courts & these amazing individuals who have invested so much into ensuring excellence in all areas of the program.

Over the years PEARL has had several board members, staff, volunteers, and graduates from our Recovery Housing who are also Alumni of this very Specialty Court who have gone on to lead successful lives and give back by serving the recovery community in many different capacities.

When you have this caliber of individuals shaping these incredibly important programs the proof is not just in the data, it’s in the families, the children who got their parents back, the parents who got their child back, the communities who are filled and flourishing with those who were once hopeless and struggling to find a way out.

Thank you to the Benton County Specialty Courts for all the ways you have made Benton County better over the years! 🥇👏

Taylor H (Women’s Recovery House) - Since coming to PEARL my life has changed in ways I didn't think were possible. I've gained stability, structure and a sense of accountability that I didn't have before. Being here has helped me grow not just in my recovery, but as a person. I'm learning how to show up for myself and others every day. PEARL gave me a safe place to rebuild, and because of that, I'm in a much better place mentally, emotionally and physically. I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to be here and for the people who support this program.

Dustin H (Men's Recovery House) - Before coming to PEARL my life was a complete disaster. I was homeless, addicted to drugs and just hopeless in life. I knew I needed a change. I reached out to PEARL and was accepted. PEARL has given me not only the resources to better my life but an opportunity to change. Since being here I have gained a better relationship with my daughter and family. PEARL helped me get my smile back by paying for my dentures. They have kept me accountable in my recovery by providing a safe environment for me to live while focusing on repairing my life. PEARL is a great place with an amazing mission. I'm very thankful for them and I feel as if I wouldn't be where I am today without them.

Britton L (Men’s Recovery House) - I have been in the Pearl program for the better part of a year. Seven months ago, I entered Pearl seeking a sanctuary for sobriety. Today, I stand as the men's house manager, a testament to the program’s power. Pearl's structured living environment provided the vital bridge I needed for stable housing and allowed me to be independent while offering exactly what I needed to make it through an important turning point in my life. At one point I had no vehicle, no driver's license or social security card, no job, no health insurance or even food to eat. My entire family had turned away from me because of my issues with substance abuse. I was destitute and hopeless. It did take time and dedication but after putting in the work and receiving the tools I needed to get my head above the water, I was able to completely change my circumstances. I now see my family and children regularly and I am able to be a parent again, physically and financially. The security found in the program and within the walls of the men's house has allowed me to shift from a mindset of survival to one of service. Pearl has also understood the requirements and supported my participation in the Benton County Drug Court program which was an absolute must for my situation. By creating a space of support and discipline, Pearl has helped me to replace my old habits with a sustainable foundation for the future. In just the first few months I was able to obtain my driver's license, clear up all open court issues and get back to square one. The staff at Pearl connected me with the assistance that I desperately needed in so many different areas and I went from there.I was able to get myself together and put back focus towards my career. I was able to grow within that career and within the recovery program and I am now further along than I could have ever imagined. I am no longer just a participant in recovery, I am a leader within its community. I don't know of any other possible way I could have made it this far or seen so many others do the same without having this as an option. I am beyond grateful.

Michal O (Women’s Recovery House) - I am completely blessed to have been accepted into PEARL. Last year at this time I was homeless, living in the park bathroom, and getting drunk everyday. I thought that there was no way out. I believed no one could or would help me. After multiple attempts of desperation I went to rehab and then PEARL. Since then I have stayed sober, maintained a full time job and reconnected with my daughter who was thankful I made changes. At PEARL I've learned structure, community and responsibility that has helped me remember the kind of person I want to be. I thank god everyday for PEARL and me being here.
