Today was a Big win for informed parents and the future health of our children! The FDA has FINALLY banned Red dye #3!!

Red dye #3 must be removed from all food products and candy by 2027, and from medication the following year.

Keep reading labels, as there are roughly up to 10,000 unregulated chemicals in our food and many companies are now using new names for the same harmful chemicals dyes.

🔴Red 40: Now labeled as Allura Red AC
🟡Yellow 5: Now labeled as Tartrazin 
🟡Yellow 6: Now labeled as Sunset Yellow FCF
🔵Blue 1: Now labeled as Brilliant Blue FCF
🔵Blue 2: Now labeled as Indigotine or Indigo Carmine
🟢Green 3: Now labeled as Fast Green FCF
🔴Red 3: Now labeled as Erythrosine
🪲Carmine: Often labeled as Cochineal Extract or Natural Red 4 (this one is derived from insects but is considered a natural colorant)

Reasons for concern:
Red 40: has been linked to aggression and mental disorders like ADHD in children.

Yellow 5 & Yellow 6: have been linked to blurred vision, migraine, agitation, insomnia, fatigue, and anxiety.

Blue 1 & 2: has been linked to hyperactivity and behavior problems in children. Blue 1 can cause chromosomal damage, which changes or breaks the chromosome of cells. 

Red 40, Yellow 5, and Yellow 6: have been found to be contaminated with benzidine or other carcinogens. 

Caramel color: some types of this artificial coloring contains a potentially carcinogenic chemical called 4-methylimidazole (4-Mel). Caramel color is the single most used food coloring in the world

I have attended many CPR classes over the years, but was never told this…..
When you are alone and have a heart attack. What are you gonna do then ?
A rarely good post that can't be shared often enough:
1. Take a 2 minute break and read this:
Let's say it's 5:25 pm and you're driving home after an unusually hard day's work.

2. You are really tired and frustrated.
All of a sudden your chest pains. They are starting to radiate in the arm and jaw. It feels like being stabbed in the chest and heart. You're only a few miles away from the nearest hospital or home.

3. Unfortunately you don't know if you can make it..

4. Maybe you've taken CPR training, but the person running the course hasn't told you how to help yourself.

5. How do you survive a heart attack when you're alone when it happens? A person who is feeling weak and whose heart is beating hard has only about 10 seconds before losing consciousness.

6. But you can help yourself by coughing repeatedly and very strongly! Deep breaths before every cough. Coughing should be repeated every second until you arrive at the hospital or until your heart starts to beat normally.

7. Deep breathing gives oxygen to your lungs and coughing movements boost the heart and blood circulation. Heart pressure also helps to restore a normal heartbeat. Here's how cardiac arrest victims can make it to the hospital for the right treatment

8. Cardiologists say if someone gets this message and passes it on to 10 people, we can expect to save at least one life.

9. FOR WOMEN: You should know that women have additional and different symptoms. Rarely have crushing chest pain or pain in the arms. Often have indigestion and tightness across the back at the bra line plus sudden fatigue.

Effective December 31, 2024, we will no longer be in-network contracts with any health insurance companies.

Due to increasing time involved with billing, audits, denials, and increasing fees, it is no longer productive for us to continue agreeing to health insurance contract terms.

What does this mean for you?

At InTouch Health, we believe that you have the right to choose what is best for your health and finances. In light of that, you have the right to choose traditional health insurance, a cost-sharing program, or another alternative that suits your needs, and we respect your decision no matter what you choose. We gladly welcome you as a practice member if you have insurance.

Our reasons for going out of contract are both practical and ethical – as providers, we want to have the freedom to do whatever is necessary to improve your overall health and wellbeing, and we want to offer great value at a fair price. We are unable to meet these goals when we have contracts with third party companies, and this restricts our ability to offer discounts to those without insurance.

By reducing our time spent fighting insurance companies, we will now be able to spend more time on patient-centered care which will allow us to offer free health and wellness information and education on our social media platforms, YouTube/Vimeo, and wellness newsletters.

Our children deserve better!

American companies that make processed foods with artificial colors, flavors, and toxens need to be held accountable! America's children deserve to be treated with the same respect and consideration as people in other countries!!

“The main thing Americans should be concerned about is our health. 77% of the population is unfit for military duty. 1 in 10 have an autoimmune disorder. 1 in 4 are on psych medications. Most people are obese. This health crisis is hitting our children and low income families the hardest, but it’s hitting all Americans. There’s corruption in the government voting for the people fighting that corruption, and putting the health of Americans first, is of upmost importance. Not the ones paid off by the food corporations to promote their ultra-processed food and protect the food corporations. Seriously. Mainstream media, and politicians are funded by these corporations fully aware of how toxic are food supply is. It’s a bipartisan issue but right now only one side is looking into it. Cut the corruption. Stop pretending Americans aren’t being poisoned by what they’re taught to eat. Fix the food pyramid. Vote for health. Make whole foods affordable. Make America Healthy Again. ”

Are pesticides causing earlier onset of puberty?

According to Stanford-trained physician and metabolic health expert Dr. Casey Means, billions of pounds of pesticides are sprayed on food globally every year.

Some of these pesticides mimic estrogen and can activate estrogen receptors. This can disrupt the normal hormonal balance.

Pesticide exposure can lead to estrogen-driven cancers such as breast cancer, which affects 1 in 8 women in the US, and early onset of puberty at ages 10 to 13. This is associated with various health risks, including an increased likelihood of developing obesity or estrogen-driven cancers later in life.

Dr. Casey Means refers to a study which showed that the herbicide atrazine can cause male African clawed frogs to develop female characteristics. Over a three-year period, male frogs exposed to low levels of atrazine (2.5 parts per billion) experienced significant hormonal changes.

Approximately 75% were chemically castrated, and about 10% transformed into functional females capable of mating with males and producing viable eggs.
