These are the best kinds of days… showing up and discovering we’re twinning in our school spirit shirts, spending time with Ginger—a 25-year-old chestnut Arabian mare—and gently asking her to leave her comfort zone without turning on the spice, and watching her rise to the challenge 🤩.

We also took a moment to focus on how we move, noticing that our body weight can either crush like a boulder or float as delicately as a feather—it all comes down to how we choose to carry ourselves 💖. Horses definitely appreciate it when we go for the light-as-a-feather option 🥰.

Look at their steps, they are synchronized! I started a folder that holds so many pics of people walking in synch with their horse. Head, posture, feet … incredible!!!

What an awesome day we shared! Picked some lovely flowers and gave Ginger a good grooming, carefully weaving the blooms into her braid like a little needlepoint masterpiece. I loved seeing the smiles and connection between these two. 💖

One unforgettable day with her home herd!
She brought her friends along, and everything became even more magical—because sharing the journey makes it that much sweeter.

We started with bubble breaths in the crisp, clear air (so refreshing!), spotted ladybugs and bird nests!

Treat time was a hit—carrots for the horses, and Ziggy got to join in too. Then it was pasture beautification (Murphy approved), followed by grooming, leading, and a ba****ck ride that lit her up from the inside out.

Leading without pulling… catching before distraction… such good lessons for horses and life. Set the stage, give clear direction, and everyone wins.

She absolutely shined. And that final pic of the strawberry? A sweet reminder I get to see every day.

So many little moments—turned into lifelong memories.

Today’s HMHT adventure was soaked in sunshine, blue skies, and green pastures—pure joy! As we entered the field, Ziggy spotted us and came running like we were his favorite part of the day. After a little grooming love, we settled in to observe the herd.

Ziggy gave us a full-on spunky roll (classic Ziggy), and soon the rest of the horses had plenty to say about feeding time. Hannah and I both noticed things—sometimes we saw the same thing, and sometimes our interpretations were totally different. That’s one of my favorite things about this activity: it reminds us that we all see the world through our own lens. And when things feel “off” with someone, maybe we just haven’t seen it from their angle yet.

With the horses munching away, we took our buckets into Ginger’s stall to finish our “Horse Talks on Rocks” project. So simple, so meaningful, and so much fun. 💖
