Matthew Macer, MD, is a highly respected specialist in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Macer Fertility Center, serving the greater Los Angeles Area, including Manhattan Beach and Long Beach. Dr. Macer created Macer Fertility Center, with offices in Rolling Hills Estates, Pasadena, and Beverly Hills/West LA, to offer unparalleled patient-centered care with leading technology.
Dr. Macer completed his medical degree at USC Keck School of Medicine, attended Yale University for his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and UCLA for his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Macer prides himself on taking a personalized and individualistic approach to each one of his patients. No two patients are the same, and neither is their treatment. With custom approaches and detailed care, Dr. Macer is committed to your satisfaction and success.
As an expert in infertility, fertility preservation (egg freezing), hormone balancing, endometriosis, and minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Macer understands the value of treating the whole person to achieve optimal health and wellness. Among the staff working closely with Dr. Macer are an Internal Medicine physician, OB/GYN, licensed therapists, nutritionist, and an acupuncturist. While placing a high priority on maintaining a state-of-the-art facility, he focuses on creating a relaxing, holistic, and welcoming environment for every patient he has the honor of treating.
Beyond providing a truly personal and individualized experience for his patients, Dr. Macer prioritizes achieving the best possible success rates for any patient undergoing fertility treatments. For this reason, the Macer Fertility Center is privileged to be associated with LA IVF, using its state of the art surgical center and embryology lab. Unlike many other IVF clinics, LA IVF uses a single highly qualified embryologist, Dr. Li Meng, who oversees all embryology procedures himself. Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Meng is best known for cloning the world's first primate.
While in residency at Yale, Dr. Macer became certified in robotic surgery and was awarded the Surgical Excellence Award as well as the Best Resident Surgeon award from the American Academy of Gynecologic Laparoscopy.
Following his residency, Dr. Macer was selected out of nearly 200 top quality candidates to complete his sub-specialization in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of California, Los Angeles. When not practicing in the United States, Dr. Macer has learned Thai and became a novice monk while living in Thailand, as well as founded multiple international health clinics.
Throughout his life, Dr. Macer has been a dedicated educator and clinical researcher, constantly curious about new and improved diagnosis and treatment options. His work has been published in many top-tier national journals as well as been presented at many national meetings, on topics such as endometriosis, pregnancy outcomes following embryo transfer, hormone replacement options, and pregnancy outcomes after transferring genetically screened embryos.
Dr. Macer maintains active membership in several national medical organizations, including the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, Society for Reproductive Surgeons, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society. Over the years, he has assumed leadership roles in these organizations, such as Junior Fellow Vice-Chairman, Abstract Submission Reviewer, Co-Editor, and lobbyist.
Dr. Macer is proud to serve patients both locally in Southern California, as well as across the US and internationally. To schedule a time to sit down with Dr. Macer, call the office nearest you or request an appointment online.
