A little self care guide to get you through the season 💛 fall is my favorite season of the year! I love that it’s cold but not too cold. The changing colors of the leaves. The fresh cool air in the morning. Love the warm smells of pumpkin and cinnamon. Hope you can find ways to care for yourself amidst the busy-ness.

“Imagine our human race is at the entrance of a long, dark tunnel, at the end of which is a little star. That’s hope. Isn’t it good sitting at the mouth of the tunnel, wishing that hope would come to us?”
– Jane Goodall, 1934-2025

With great sadness, the Jane Goodall Institute confirmed this morning the passing of the organization’s founder, Dr. Jane Goodall, age 91 who died peacefully in her sleep while in Los Angeles, CA for her speaking tour in the United States.

Dr. Goodall’s life and work not only made an indelible mark on our understanding of chimpanzees and other species, but also of humankind and the environments we all share. She inspired curiosity, hope and compassion in countless people around the world, and paved the way for many others — particularly young people who gave her hope for the future.

In 1960 Dr. Goodall established the longest running wild chimpanzee study in Gombe National Park, Tanzania which continues to this day. She pioneered and sustained the Jane Goodall Institute’s community-centered conservation initiatives across the chimpanzee range for over four decades. Her legacy includes the creation of JGI’s international environmental and humanitarian youth program Roots & Shoots, which is actively driving change in 75 countries and counting around the world.

The Jane Goodall Institute is incredibly grateful to all our supporters, partners, and friends, especially during this difficult time. To add a personal remembrance of Dr. Goodall and continue her legacy for future generations, please visit JaneGoodall.org/RememberingJane

North Chicago Service Manager Rosina LaPietra and Sales Manager Deidre Wolfe Mitchell attended The Pearl of Rolling Meadows open house, showcasing the complete renovation of their facility. The Pearl is located around the corner from Neptune Society North Chicago, and we take care of many of their patients when they pass. They specialize in post hospital care, long term care, memory care, and even have in-house dialysis. We had a wonderful tour of their building and were so impressed by their improvements along with the relationships we saw between the administration and the residents. Congratulations to The Pearl -- your renovations are truly stunning!

Service Manager Rosina LaPietra and the Neptune North Chicago team attended a kickoff event hosted by the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce at Pizza Lobo. We got to speak with State Reps. Kelly Cassidy and Hoan Huynh, Sen. Mike Simmons, Alderman Andre Vasquez, Alderwoman Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth, and Alderman Bennett Lawson. It was rewarding to meet with Northside residents and business owners, hearing their stories and struggles, many related to the funeral industry.

Pictured are Rosina and Sales Manager Deidre Wolfe Mitchell, Rep. Huynh, and Sen. Simmons.

Neptune North Chicago is happy to be an and a safe space to all in the community. We look forward to attending more events with this fantastic Chamber! (We would also like to mention that Pizza Lobo was out of this world! 🍕❤️)

On May 17, Neptune North Chicago was a sponsor of the Rolling Meadows Taking Care of Business Luncheon. Mayor Lara Sanoica gave her State of the City Address and also spoke about the upcoming move of the Chicago Bears from the city of Chicago to the suburb next door to us, Arlington Heights. They'll be just around the corner from our Neptune office!

Neptune North Chicago Service Manager Rosina LaPietra attended the Amber Woodworth Memorial Softball Tournament, created by the local community to help the family after Amber died of cancer. Neptune's donated raffle prize was a big hit – a Bowser LEGO set to the theme of the new The Super Mario Bros. Movie! Most prizes are aimed at adults, so Rosina wanted to provide something special for the kids.

The Woodworth family – Ronnie and Amber, who were high school sweethearts, and their four boys, one of whom has a chromosome disorder – is pictured here. Thanks to the community for your generosity and support, and what an honor to be part of it!
