PROCLAMATION FOR VIRAL SAFETY MONTH

Starr County Judge Eloy Vera and the Commissioners’ Court declare November 2021 as “Viral Safety Month” in Starr County, during a regularly scheduled meeting.

The proclamation reads; “WHEREAS, It is of vital importance for all residents to protect their family, community and themselves by researching the positive effects of proper home humidity, Vitamin D benefits, COVID prevention; and Early treatment of COVID-19 has changed-Consult a medical professional to begin early treatment immediately as soon as symptoms are evident, WHEREAS, It is recommended for all persons to get tested to determine Vitamin D levels and to adopt a Vitamin D regimen individually designed by a medical provider to improve immune system; and WHEREAS, Studies have concluded that a recommended indoor humidity of 55-65 % have been found to alter the transmission of infectious disease particles.” Judge Eloy Vera encourages the community to work together to promote COVID-19 Safety measures in order to save lives and improve the overall health of residents.

- Receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood
- Received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
- Received a stem cell transplant within the last 2 years or are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
- Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome)
- Advanced or untreated HIV infection
- Active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress your immune response
