Can a disc herniation heal on its own?

Sometimes symptoms calm down. Pain can fade. Inflammation can decrease. But that does not automatically mean the disc mechanics, spinal alignment, and pressure patterns have been corrected.
If the underlying stress on the disc is still there, the cycle usually repeats. Flare. Calm. Flare again.

At Relentless, we focus on actually correcting the issue. We work to restore proper motion, reduce pressure on the disc, and create structural change that lasts.
Less band-aid. More rebuild.

If you’ve been stuck in the flare-up cycle, it may be time to address what’s really driving it. DM us “DISC” and let’s see if you’re a candidate.

When the day ends for our practice members, it begins for our team.

At Relentless, we don’t just talk about nervous system health, spinal motion, and performance… we prioritize it ourselves. Regular chiropractic adjustments help reduce stress on the spine, restore proper motion, and support clear communication between the brain and body.

If we’re going to recommend care to you and your family, we believe we should be living it too. 💚
Your nervous system controls everything. Why wouldn’t we keep it tuned up?

What is a chiropractic adjustment actually doing? 🧠⚡️

It is not just “cracking your back.” It is restoring motion to a joint that is not moving well and reducing stress on the nervous system.

When spinal joints lose proper motion, they can alter the way the brain receives and sends signals.

Research shows that adjustments influence the central nervous system, improve joint position sense, and modulate how the brain processes sensory input. In simple terms, we help the brain and body communicate more clearly.

Here’s what most people do not realize:
• Nervous system regulation: Studies using EEG and brain mapping show spinal adjustments can change cortical activity and improve sensorimotor integration. That means better coordination, balance, and overall neurologic efficiency.

• Immune influence: Research has demonstrated changes in immune markers such as increased IgA levels following adjustments, suggesting improved immune responsiveness.

• Hormone and stress response: Adjustments have been shown to reduce cortisol levels and support parasympathetic activity, helping regulate the stress response.

• Spinal curve correction and degeneration prevention: Chiropractic Biophysics research has documented measurable improvements in spinal alignment and lordosis restoration. Healthier curves distribute load properly, reducing abnormal wear that contributes to early degeneration.

An adjustment is a mechanical input with neurologic impact. When we restore motion and alignment, we are not just chasing symptoms. We are optimizing the system that controls everything.

Healing is not random. It is neurologic.

Dr. Sean loves taking care of the little ones too.

Pediatric adjustments aren’t about “cracking backs.” They’re about supporting healthy joint motion and giving the nervous system the clean input it needs while it’s still wiring and building.

From tumbles and car seats to learning to run, climb, and explore, a 2-year-old’s spine experiences a lot in a short amount of time. Gentle, specific adjustments help restore motion to areas that may not be moving well, which supports balance, coordination, sleep, digestion, and overall development.

Healthy motion → Clearer communication in the nervous system → Better function from the start.
Small spines. Big impact. 💚

Disc pressure doesn’t just cause pain. It changes how your nerves communicate.

When a disc bulges or herniates, it can increase internal pressure and irritate nearby nerve roots. That irritation is what often creates symptoms like sciatica, radiating leg pain, numbness, tingling, or persistent low back discomfort.

Spinal decompression works by gently creating negative pressure inside the disc. This can help:
• Reduce mechanical stress on the disc
• Improve nutrient and fluid exchange
• Decrease nerve irritation
• Support the healing environment

This isn’t about “cracking” or masking symptoms.
It’s about restoring space, motion, and function.
If you’ve been told to just live with it, manage it, or wait it out… there may be another option.

Your cervical spine does far more than hold your head up.

The joints in your neck are packed with mechanoreceptors that feed critical information into the brain, especially areas involved in focus, regulation, and decision-making like the prefrontal cortex.

When spinal motion improves, the brain receives clearer input. Better input supports better output.

A baby’s spine and nervous system are developing rapidly in the first months of life.

Movement, posture, and sensory input all play a role in how the brain and body learn to communicate.

Through gentle, age-appropriate chiropractic care, we assess spinal motion and areas of restriction that may interfere with that communication.

Adjustments for infants are light, specific, and tailored to their anatomy, designed to support normal motion and nervous system regulation, not force change.

Our goal is not to “fix” a baby, but to help create an environment where the nervous system can function efficiently so growth, development, and adaptability can happen at their best.

Every adjustment is intentional. Every touch is gentle.
